Fall Family Weekend 2016 Parents and families can enjoy free access to the Student Rec Center, the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (JSMA), and the Museum of Natural and Cultural History (MNCH) throughout Fall Family Weekend. Events will be added and updated as we get closure to Fall Family Weekend 2016! Also, check out the Downtown Eugene scavenger hunt and win a free tote bag! Friday, October 28 Time Activity Location 8 a.m. – Fall Family Weekend Check-In Erb Memorial Union 7 p.m. Stop by the Homecoming and Fall Family Weekend Check-In to get a (EMU) Plaza full schedule of open classes, additional information about campus partners, and your credentials for the weekend. Hospitality will be available. 8 a.m. – Open Classes Various Locations 4 p.m. Duck into a variety of open classes! A full schedule of open classes will be available at check-in. If you want to attend your student’s classes, your student needs to seek prior approval from their instructor prior to Fall Family Weekend. 4:00 Fishbowl Fridays EMU Fishbowl p.m. – It's Homecoming week! Check out Fishbowl Fridays on your way to the 6:00 festivities. Live music by UO students and local musicians. Swing by p.m. and listen with us! 4:00 Homecoming Celebration EMU Lobby p.m. – Connect The Ducks team will host fun Ducky games and giveaways in 7:00 honor of Spirit Week and Homecoming. Come try your skills with a p.m. football toss or grab a pompom. All games and giveaways are free. All Ducks are welcome! 5:00 Homecoming Parade 13th Avenue On p.m. – We are celebrating our 102nd year of Homecoming spirt and tradition! Campus 5:30 All are welcome to watch and cheer on the parade. The parade route p.m. will start at 13th and Agate and proceed to the Erb Memorial Union. 5:00 UO Jazz Combos with Guest Artist Tom Wakeling Jazz Station, p.m. Check out the UO music group performing at the Jazz Station! 5 p.m. 124 W. Broadway pre-concert set. Tickets are available at the door or in advance through Eugene, OR TheJazzStation.org. $10 general admission, $7 students and seniors. Friday, October 28 (continued) Time Activity Location 6:00 Doors Open for Volleyball Meal Matthew Knight p.m. For those of you who purchased Volleyball Tickets, you will receive a Arena voucher for dinner at Matthew Knight Arena! Vouchers should be picked up at Check-in prior to the event. You may eat anytime between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Please enter through the west doors of Matthew Knight Arena. 6:20 Chalk Talk With Head Volleyball Coach Jim Moore Founders Club, p.m. Join us prior to the game to learn more about the ins and outs of Matthew Knight volleyball and meet the head coach. Chalk Talk will be held in the Arena exclusive Founders Club in the basement floor of Matthew Knight Arena. A ticket to the volleyball game is required to attend. 7:00 Volleyball Game vs. Arizona Matthew Knight p.m. Cheer on our Ducks as they take on the Arizona Wildcats! Information Arena about tickets and seating is available on the goducks.com website. If you bought tickets through the Parent and Family Programs, you will have a meal voucher included with your ticket. 7:00 p.m. Live Music Erb Memorial Union - 10:00 Stop by the “O” Lounge in the EMU to listen to Identity Theft, an 80’s p.m. cover band and sing along to some of your favorite songs! 7:30 Oregon Ballroom Friday Night Dance Gerlinger Hall, p.m. Join the largest social dancing group at the University of Oregon! They Room 220 provide a fun, dry social event each Friday night. Each weekly dance is preceded by an hour lesson. Usually a beginning and intermediate lesson are held. Admission to the dance is $5 for students (with ID) and $7 for community. 7:30 Eugene Ballet Company: Giselle Hult Center p.m. Eugene Ballet Company opens their 37th season, Tales of True Love, 7th & Willamette with the greatest classical full-length ballet of the Romantic Era. Eugene, OR Featuring some of classical ballet's most prized roles, our award- winning dancers will bring Giselle to life. Tickets on sale at the UO Ticket Office. 7:30 Much Ado About Nothing Hult Center, 1 Eugene p.m. Shakespeare and Berlioz combine to bring the comedy of Much Ado Center (7th and About Nothing to glorious life. Tickets on sale at Willamette) www.tickets.uoregon.edu. 8:30 Haunted Campus Tour EMU Fishbowl p.m. Join us for our second annual Haunted Campus Tour! Walk around the University of Oregon campus and learn about the spooky stories in different campus buildings. This event is free. Saturday, October 29 Time Activity Location 9:00 a.m. Taste of Home Brunch EMU Ballroom Enjoy a brunch inspired by the favorite recipes of Duck families as we discuss the concept of “Home” during Homecoming! Students are welcome to attend, but will require a ticket. 10 a.m. – Eugene Saturday Market & Lane County Farmers Market 236 E. 8th Street, 5 p.m. Visit with over 300 local artisans, farmers, gardeners. Saturday Market Eugene, OR occurs regardless of rain or shine and features an International Food Court and live music. 11:00 Pre Football Game Experience Moshofsky Center, a.m. Join us in the Moshofsky Center at Autzen Stadium for a pre-game Autzen Stadium experience. If you purchased tickets through Parent and Family Complex Programs, your registration includes one entree and one non-alcoholic beverage. Other beverages and food items are available for purchase. All attendees must have a ticket to the football game in order to gain access to the "Mo". The Mo Center is the building west of Autzen. 2:00 Football Game vs. Arizona State Autzen Stadium p.m. Cheer on the Ducks in iconic Autzen Stadium! If you bought tickets through the Parent and Family Programs, our group will be seated in Sections 36, 37, and 38. Game time will be announced within 10 days of gameday. Game time updates and an Autzen seating chart can be found at goducks.com. 6:00 Dia de los Muertos Celebration Jordan Schnitzer p.m. – This popular annual event is filled with music, poetry, art, dialogue and Museum of Art 9:00 a traditional ofrenda. This event is free. (JSMA) p.m. 7:00 Women’s Basketball Game Vs. Northwest Matthew Knight p.m. Come cheer on the UO Women’s Basketball team as they take on Arena Northwest Christian University! Sunday, October 30 Time Activity Location 10:00 Mount Pisgah Arboretum Mushroom Festival Mount Pisgah a.m. – A fun festival featuring several hundred species of local fungi, collected Arboretum 5:00 throughout Western Oregon. This annual event is the largest p.m. mushroom display on the West Coast and includes a huge plant sale, scarecrow contest, children's activities, hayrides, craft vendors, food, cider, music, wine and more. No dogs allowed. 11:00 Women’s Volleyball vs. Arizona State Matthew Knight a.m. Come support the Women’s volleyball team as they play against the Arena Arizona State Sundevils! For seating and tickets, visit goducks.com. 1:30 Run with the Duck 1k Kids Fun Run Riverfront Field p.m. The children’s race for runners ages 4-12. $10 to pre-register. Cash only for day-of registration. 6:00 Haunted Market 5th Street Market, p.m. – Fun for the whole family! Bring your little goblins and ghouls to the 296 E. 5th Avenue 8:00 Haunted Market for some tricks and treating! $3 cash or 3 cans per p.m. child for entry. This event is a benefit for Food for Lane County. 6:30 Halloween Spooktastic Aasen-Hull Hall, p.m. The beloved, family-friendly concert returns! Join the UO 961 East 18th Ave Trombone Choir, Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, and Apocalyptic Brass as they perform spooky (but not scary) family favorites in this free annual event. .
