COMMUNITY ARTS Summer 2021 Course Schedule Greetings arts community, We’ve got a great summer planned out! I’m excited about new classes like The Critic’s Lens, continuing successes like Chinese Brush Painting, and classes we haven’t offered for a while like Landscape Painting. The slow vaccine rollout means we’re still holding all classes online this summer, but we’re still going strong.

Despite the pandemic, our arts community has been busy! Both our students and faculty are active, exhibiting, publishing, curating, and more. Check out some of their accomplishments in our Kudos section on page 13. I would also like to introduce our first student writing feature, by Aaro, on page 14. As we run more writing classes, we want to continue to celebrate all of our students’ work!

Our faculty continue to amaze me, and I wanted to show you exactly how excellent they are. You can now read all about them in our new faculty bios section on page 15 and at montgomerycollege.edu/communityarts.

A final new item: if you’re viewing this catalog digitally, you’ll notice that we’ve made the experience richer with links between sections and to external content. Just one more way we’re adapting to our digital world!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at [email protected] or 240-567-5806.

Thank you, John Deamond Community Arts Program Director

Co-listed classes usually have a small number of seats (2-5), so sign up before it’s too late!

AGE LIMIT: All classes are for students age 16 and older. We occasionally make exceptions for 14-15-year olds; please contact us for more information.

I created this in Oil Painting: Independent Studio with Professor Kaltoum Maroufi-Colle.
