THE HERTFORDSHIRE (TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN , ALBURY, BISHOPS STORTFORD, MUCH HADHAM AND ) ORDER 2017

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of The Causeway, Furneux Pelham from its junction with Patient End north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with The Street, a distance of approximately 597 metres.

An alternative route will be via C35 (unnamed road), Barleycroft End and The Street.

2. that length of Mill Lane, Albury from its junction with Clapgate eastwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

3. that length of A120 Bishops Stortford Bypass, Bishops Stortford from its junction with the A1184 Bishops Park Way/A1250 Hadham Road roundabout north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with the B1383 Stansted Road/A120 (unnamed road) roundabout, a distance of approximately 3604 metres.

An alternative route will be via A1250 (Hadham Road/Link Road/The Causeway/Hockerill Street/Dunmow Road) and A120 (unnamed road).

4. that length of B1004 (Rye Street/Michaels Road), Bishops Stortford from its junction with B1004 Northgate End north eastwards and eastwards to its junction with B1383 Stansted Road, a distance of approximately 1858 metres.

An alternative route will be via B1004 Northgate End, A1250 (Link Road/The Causeway/ Hockerill Street) and B1383 Stansted Road.

5. that length of Malting Lane, Much Hadham from its junction with B1004 Tower Hill eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with Danebridge Road, a distance of approximately 373 metres.

An alternative route will be via B1004 (Tower Hill/High Street) and Oudle Lane.

6. that length of Danebridge Road, Much Hadham from its junction with B1004 Great Hadham Road south westards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 1375 metres.

An alternative route will be via B1004 (Great Hadham Road/Winding Hill/High Street/ Tower Hill) and Malting Lane.

7. that length of Church Lane, Much Hadham from its junction with B1004 High Street north eastwards, south westwards and north westwards to its westernmost junction with Oudle Lane, a distance of approximately 568 metres.

An alternative route will be via B1004 High Street and Oudle Lane.

8. that length of Road, Sawbridgeworth from its junction with A1184 Harlow Road north westwards and westwards to its junction with Broadfields, a distance of approximately 1072 metres.

An alternative route will be via A1184 (Harlow Road/ Road), Edinburgh Way, Fifth Avenue (Allende Avenue), Eastwick Road, Pye Corner and High Wych Road.

9. that length of High Wych Road, Sawbridgeworth from its junction with Hand Lane eastwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 238 metres.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 August 2017 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

A copy of the proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).
