Good morning Alder Grangers! Message from Mrs Griffiths

8th February 2021 Well done!

You have continued to engage really well with online work, both in and out of school. Keep up the good work!

We are hoping that we will be able to reopen fully in March, and as soon as this is confirmed I will be in touch, it is not the same in school without all of you so I am keeping everything crossed!

Mrs Pilling & Mrs Connor’s road trip! Look out for the school minibus on Wednesday morning this week! Pick up some goodies: exercise books, stationary, toiletries, ready meals and even some biscuits and treats - they would be really pleased to see you to say hello, even if you don’t need anything! Mrs Pilling & Mrs Connor’s road trip! Here’s where to find them Wednesday 10th February: Loveclough (top Avenue) 10:15-10:25 (Indian Harvest) 10:30-10:40 (Tesco) 10:45-11:00 Staghills (Staghills Road) 11:15-11:30 Edgeside (B&E Boys Todd Carr Road)11:40-12:00 (Rose & Bowl) 12:10-12:30 Friday drop down day On Friday we are having a virtual drop down day: • Your Form teacher will make an appointment to talk to each of you about how things are going, like we did in the summer. • There will be some suggestions for wellbeing and mindfulness activities to do. • There will be NO LESSONS!! • This is also a time to catch up on any outstanding work, so that you can have a proper break at half term. Half term • Have a good rest and a break from work. • Try to do some exercise, even better if you also get some fresh air. • Do something different, bake a cake, learn a new skill, get in touch with someone you haven’t spoken to for a while. • You’ll be re-charged ready for the next half term if you rest up now. And as always a quote to make you think…

The physicist Amory Lovins was asked whether he was an optimist or a pessimist. He replied: “I am neither — because they are just two different forms of fatalism. The optimist says things have to get to better, and the pessimist says things have to get worse. I believe in applied hope. Things can get better, but you have to make them so.”

…So let’s work together to make things better… And Finally:

Remember we are a team, just like the geese! Alder Grangers look out for each other Work together to achieve the same goal Take the lead when times are tough Encourage and cheer each other along Honk!!
