Catalog 2004-2005 Catalog 2004-2005 Specializing in Herbs & Rare Sacramental’s Recommended by Our Lady and Our Lord for the END TIMES God never strikes without warning. He has sent us His Holy Mother who came and wept at LA SALETTE (1846), but she was neither listened to nor believed. God will therefore punish without precedence the whole universe. Earlier on He had indicated to Marie-Julie Jahenny (1873), (who had the stigmata and was held in high esteem by some bishops of Nantes) the natural and supernatural means of protecting ourselves with blessed candles and other items for the three days of darkness. On the 27th of November 1902 & the 10th of May 1904, Our Lord and Our Lady announced to Marie-Julie Jahenny, the “New Mass”- Listen: “I give you a WARNING. The disciples who are not of My Gospel are now working hard to remake according to their ideas AND UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF THE ENEMY OF SOULS A MASS THAT CONTAINS WORDS THAT ARE ODIOUS IN MY SIGHT…” I beg you to take 10 steps back and look at what happened to the Mass, 20 years after the council, what direction has the church gone & where is it going? Do not be fooled, please research & educate yourselves, your soul is at stake! Haydock to help the faithful understand scripture according to the mind of the Church. No more opinions of so-called “experts” or faithless theologians. Bonaventure Hammer 16.50 The stories and special intercessory powers of 14 early Saint- Martyrs invoked for numerous special needs, such that they came to be called “The 14 Holy Helpers” St. Barbara, St. Blaise, St. Christopher, St. Catherine, etc, are invoked against such things as throat ailments, lightning, diabolical possession, fire and family troubles. Includes prayers to each Saint, Third class relic cloths (of most Saints), St. Blaise Holy Water and medal, St. Barbara miniature statue, St. Christopher medal, and a St. George medal. ________________________________________________________________________ BK-DLMH The Divine Life of the Most Holy Virgin-Abridged 13.25 Ven. Mary of Agreda, abridgement of The Mystical City of God. The relevance of this book is that during an exorcism in Europe, from the Warning From Hell, Satan revealed that one book (out of two, the other was The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ) he detested most because of its accuracy of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s life, which “should have been in the Bible”, thus making a difference in reverence due her.

Victim Adorers Of The Holy Face Of Jesus Holy Family Carmelite Hermitage E.Carm Corran, Leap, Co. Cork. Rep. of Ireland. Website: vahfj.com Issue 5 - December 2018 “Therefore, the Lord Himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son...” Isaiah 7:14 Dear Friends and Benefactors, In a world where computer screen or iphones are open in almost every ofce, home or hand, the word, ’Icon’ means no more than a shortcut to a computer program. But for the early Christian, the word, ’Icon’ brought to mind a sacred image. This form of sacred art has existed from the beginning of Christianity. Tradition has it that the frst icon (Greek -eikō n "image") of the most holy Mother of God (THEOTOKOS or "bearer of God.") was made by St. Luke. Yet the frst True Icon not painted by human hands, was the Icon of the Holy Face of Jesus given to us by Our Lord Himself through the holy courageous woman, whom tradition names “Veronica”. The name Veronica, (Vero nika) means true image. A religious Icon then is a Sacred Image. Unlike our Western holy pictures which appeal to the eyes and stir the emotions; the Sacred Icon does not, as a norm, appeal to our outward senses. To the untrained eye, it has little beauty and many peculiarities. Yet these very peculiarities, when rightly understood, draw the mind to contemplate spiritual realities. But how, one might ask, can those of us, not brought up in the Eastern Christian tradition, begin to understand and appreciate this form of Christian art? We do so by standing before it; by reading it and by prayerful meditation before it.

  • Why Catholics Wear Scapulars by Ken Litchfield
Why Catholics Wear Scapulars by Ken Litchfield The wearing of a small square Scapular is a popular devotion among many Catholics. Some know the teaching behind it and some wear it by family tradition. The small square Scapular is based on the large scarf-like Scapular worn over the shoulders by religious brothers and sisters. The word Scapular comes from the Latin word scapula for the shoulder bone. Lay Catholics often wear the small Scapular which has 2 pieces of wool cloth connected by 2 cords to imitate the religious brothers and sisters. There may be a picture or some brief writing on the back of the wool cloth to remind the wearer why they are wearing it. The teaching behind the various Scapulars is to remind us to lead Holy lives. Catholics are not required to wear a scapular but many who know the teaching behind it do. The Brown Scapular Our Lady of Mount Carmel appeared to the Carmelite monk Saint Simon Stock in 1251 and presented him with a brown wool scapular, saying, “Whoever dies invested with this Scapular shall be preserved from the eternal flames. It is a sign of salvation, a sure safeguard in danger, a pledge of peace and of my special protection until the end of the ages.” Any Catholic can be enrolled in the Brown Scapular. Many children are enrolled after their First Communion, although there is no age requirement. To gain the promises of the Brown Scapular, one must be enrolled or invested in the Brown Scapular by a Catholic priest or deacon.

  • Newsletter Feb 2021 Final.Pub
The Oblate News Magazine of the Oblates of Saint John’s Abbey February 2021 Volume 65 Number 1 At the request of Abbot John, Father Nathanael Hauser OSB embarked on the creation of a triptych whose cen- tral panel is of the Virgin and Child. Abbot John asked that the Virgin re- call Our Lady of Guadalupe. The work is 8’ high, hung directly above the abbot’s throne in the Abbey Church, holding our gaze through the Advent and Christmas season. Following are notes from Father Nathanael on his creative process of the Our Lady of Guadalupe icon: I wanted to know as much as possible in a short time about the Guadalupe image, so I turned to Fr. Francisco Schulte OSB for help. My deep thanks to him for sharing the wealth of his knowledge about Our Lady of Gua- dalupe. There was much to learn! My first thought in planning the piece was to adapt the icon of our Lady of the Sign, which is an Advent/ Christmas icon. Then I thought of using the pose of the Mabon Madonna. But the more I looked at the image, the less either idea seemed to work. The miraculous image is from 1531 and, the more I studied it, the more it became apparent that our Lady chose to depict herself in the pictorial style of the age. That makes sense: this was the way people expected to see a portrait, just as we expect to see a photograph. This was the style of the Italian Renaissance--Maryʹs face reminds me of some of Botticelliʹs paintings in particular.

  • NICCSJ Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel 2021
NICCSJ 2021 Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Feast Day, July 16th) Mount Carmel is the biblical site where the prophet Elijah battled with the 450 priests of Baal, which led to their defeat and ruin. It was also where Elijah sent his servant seven times to the mountaintop to look for rain after years of drought which ended as he proclaimed (1 Kings 18:19-44). The title of Our Lady of Carmel can be traced back to the hermits (Carmelites) who used to live in the renowned and blessed Mount Carmel. These pious and austere Carmelites prayed in expectation of the advent of a Virgin-Mother. Thousands of years later, our Lady, Mary appeared to St. Simon Stock, a Carmelite priest, in the exact same location on July 16th 1251. In this appearance of Mary, she is known as Our Lady of Mount Carmel. She appeared holding Jesus as a child in one arm and on her other arm, a Scapular. She promised that all those who wear Scapular and follow Christ faithfully will be brought by Our Mother Mary into heaven at their deaths. Praying the Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel has been an age-long practice through which Christians have entrusted their intentions to God through the powerful intercessions of our Mother Mary. Let us continue to share in the maternal love our Mother Mary by praying this Novena with devotion and attention.
