TONIGHT’S GAME – The Colorado Eagles take on the San Diego Gulls tonight for the fifth time this season and for the third time at the Budweiser Events Center.
THE SEASON SERIES – The Gulls and Eagles are tied in the season series with each team posting a record of 2-2-0-0 through the first four meetings of the season.
THE ALL-TIME SERIES – This will be the fifth meeting between Colorado and San Diego, as the two teams will face off a total of eight times this season.
EAGLES’ LAST GAME (2/9) – The Stockton Heat built a 2-0 lead in the first period and netted the final four goals of the contest to defeat the Colorado Eagles, 6-2 on Saturday. Logan O’Connor and Tyson Jost each notched a goal in the losing effort, as the defeat put the brakes on Colorado’s three-game winning streak.
GULLS’ LAST GAME (2/9) – The Bakersfield Condors scored 1:16 into the first period and would go on to build a 6-0 lead en route to a 7-1 victory over the San Diego Gulls. Forward Corey Tropp scored the Gulls lone goal in the contest, as goaltender Jeff Glass suffered the loss in net, surrendering six goals on 25 shots.
LAST MEETING (12/8) – Eagles forward Michael Joly opened the scoring with a power-play goal to help push the Eagles to a 4-3 victory over the San Diego Gulls. The win capped-off a six-game homestand that saw the Eagles capture 11 of a possible 12 points in the standings. Colorado forward Martin Kaut netted the game-winning goal in the third period, while rookie defenseman Kevin Davis collected the first three points of his AHL career.
