16 March 2021 DAILY UPDATED CURRENT AFFAIRS : 15 - 16 MARCH 2021 .12.2018 NATIONAL Centre announces new scheme.2018 for tourist vehicle operators The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced a new scheme for tourist vehicle operators. Any tourist vehicle .11.2018operator may apply for an All India tourist authorization and permit through online mode. It will be issued, after relevant documents are submitted and fees deposited, within 30 days of submission of such applications. Govt announces linking of OTPRMS certificates with DigiLocker Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced linking of Online Teacher Pupil Registration Management System, OTPRMS certificates with DigiLocker. This has been done in order to ensure hassle free access to verified OTPRMS Certificates. The issued certificates will automatically be transferred to DigiLocker and the same may be traced at the website of National Council for Teacher Education and DigiLocker. The Minister also informed that the registration fee of 200 rupees payable for obtaining OTPRMS Certificates, issued by NCTE has been waived off. This will enable all stakeholders across India to be digitally empowered facilitating ease of doing business. I&B Minister inaugurates Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav exhibitions at 6 places Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar inaugurated the exhibition to commemorate 75 years of India‟s Independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at six places in the country virtually. The six places where Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav exhibitions were inaugurated are Jammu, Imphal, Patna, Bhubaneshwar, Pune and Bengaluru. India’s first centralised AC railway terminal in Bengaluru to operational soon India‟s first centralised air-conditioned (AC)railway terminal has been built at Baiyappanahalli in Bengaluru. Named after „Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya‟one of the foremost civil engineers, the AC railway terminal is set to become operational soon. It has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 314 crore. The Byappanahalli terminal is the third coach terminal named after Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya, sanctioned in 2015-16. STATE GOVT NEWS J&K govt sanctions interest-free loan worth two lakh rupees for PMAY-U beneficiaries Jammu and Kashmir government has approved a proposal to provide interest-free loan up to 2 lakh rupees to the urban homeless economically weaker section beneficiaries under Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U). J&K Administrative Council, which met under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, approved the proposal of the Housing and Urban Development Department. Covid Tracker helpline launched in Mumbai The coronavirus cases in Maharashtra including Mumbai have been witnessing a sharp spike since last few days. MISCELLANEOUS Indian Navy extends technical assistance to stranded merchant vessel at sea The Indian Navy provided technical assistance to a stranded merchant vessel at sea. It was done by seven Indian crew members INS Talwar deployed in the Gulf of Oman received a broadcast call from the ship requesting for technical assistance. The cargo ship was drifting at sea since March 9 owing to failure of its propulsion, power generation and navigational systems. The naval teams worked continuously for seven hours on board MV Nayan to operationalise her key equipment such as generators, steering pump, sea water pump, compressor and main engine. ISRO Launches RH-560 To Study attitudinal variations On March 12, 2021, The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched a sounding rocket (RH-560) from Andhra Pradesh‟s Sriharikota-based Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC). It is mainly for studying the attitudinal variations in the neutral winds and plasma dynamics. ISRO currently has three different versions of sounding rockets, namely RH-200, RH-300-Mk- II and RH-560-Mk-II The three different versions of sounding rockets are capable of carrying 8 to 100 kilogram of payload to an altitude varying between 80 to 475 kilometres from the ground. Rai, Sonepat – 131029, Haryana (India) Dr. Prabhakar Machwe (1917-1991) Prolific writer, linguist and an authority on Indian literature, Dr. Prabhakar Machwe was born on 26 December 1917 at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India. He graduated from Vikram University, Ujjain and obtained Masters in Philosophy, 1937, and English Literature, 1945, Agra University; Sahitya Ratna and Ph.D, Agra University, 1957. Dr. Machwe started his career as a lecturer in Madhav College, Ujjain, 1938-48. He worked as Literary Producer, All India Radio, Nagpur, Allahabad and New Delhi, 1948-54. He was closely associated with Sahitya Akademi from its inception in 1954 and served as Assistant Secretary, 1954-70, and Secretary, 1970-75. Dr. Machwe was Visiting Professor in Indian Studies Departments at the University of Wisconsin and the University of California on a Fulbright and Rockefeller grant (1959-1961); and later Officer on Special Duty (Language) in Union Public Service Commission, 1964-66. After retiring from Sahitya Akademi in 1975, Dr. Machwe was a visiting fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies, Simla, 1976-77, and Director of Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad, Calcutta, 1979-85. He spent the last years of his life in Indore as Chief Editor of a Hindi daily, Choutha Sansar, 1988-91. Dr. Prabhakar Machwe travelled widely for lecture tours to Germany, Russia, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Japan and Thailand. He organised national and international seminars on the occasion of the birth centenaries of Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore, and Sri Aurobindo between 1961 and 1972.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Subramanya and is built in typical traditional Kerala style architecture. Diwan Natayana Menon laid its foundation in 1925 and the temple was built according to the ideology of Shree Narayan Guru one of the most famous social reformer. With an image of a guru, Sree Subramanya Swami, who is advising “Pranavasaramsham” to his father Sree Parameshwaran, facing east is the presiding deity. Subdeities are Ganapathi, Sashtavu, Durgadevi, Idumban swami, Nagarajavu and Yakshi. Abhishekams with milk, tender coconut, rose water, Bhasn’la etc, are the main offerings. This temple was basically built for the suffering low caste Hindus like the ezhavas, at a time when they were not allowed admission into Hindu adoration centres. This temple was constructed under the supervision of the Sree Narayana Bhakta Samudhayodharani Samajam (SNBS) which started to function on the 16th day of the month of Dhanu in 1093. On 20th day of the month Vrishchika 1100 in the malayalam calendar the foundation stone was laid for the temple construction and it was completed on 1103.
