Also a US General Services Administration 1969 letter to English resident who had requested information on Kingsford-Smith's 1928 & 1934 flights in US airspace. Of the covers notable items incl 1937 1d QM & 2d KGVI FDC to Lundy Is with "Atlantic Coast Air Services" ½d adhesive tied by boxed Barnstaple to Lundy Island 16-6-37 in blue, the only part of the journey which was by air, 1939 (7th Mar) registered RAAF Station Richmond cover, the opening day of that post office (label no. 007) & a plain 1939 (7th Feb) Sailplane flight cover to philatelist EH Wythes with 2d Sesqui tied by cds reading "PG NSW 7FE39". Nice lot written up on leaves (11 covers) $100 5 1929-1953 First flight covers from Lebanon, USA, New Zealand, South Africa, South Vietnam, Ireland & Brazil with a variety of frankings & pictorial cachets. Also Sydney to Hobart (7.10.35), 1935 Qld Air Mail Society Darwin to Adelaide, 6.9.1939 Aust to England, 2.7.49 Sydney to Vancouver with 25.7.49 arrival & Aust-South Africa Qantas First Regular Airmail cover. Usual mixed cond for such a group. Also several with the "ALEXANDRIA" cachet in violet. Noted some NSW & Qld TPO cancels. Mixed cond but many useful at this reserve. Also 1938 "Adelaide Advertiser" newspaper clippings about the Centaurus flying boat flights. Mixed cond but pickings. $50 13 1932-1986 world range to various destinations.
