It demonstrates both the opportunities and the limits of women in a country in which Islam and sport are not contradictions.1 – Gertrud Pfister – As the London 2012 Olympics approached, issues of women athletes from Muslim majority countries were splashed across the headlines. When the Iranian women’s football team was disqualified from an Olympic qualifying match because their hejab did not conform to the uniform code, Small Media began researching the history, structure and representation of women’s sport in Iran. Article Importance of East Africa in Indo-Pacific Neha Sinha Abstract The East African region has gained immense importance in recent times mainly because of its strategic location on the west coast of the Indian Ocean, its resources and its economic potential. Many countries, including countries of Indo-Pacific region, are trying to establish their influence and military bases in the region. The significance of Africa as a whole for the safety and security of the Indo-Pacific is growing. It is therefore important to systematically build ties between Asia and Africa through a free and open Indo-Pacific maritime zone, in order to promote stability of the region as both the continents are on the rise and also conflict prone. -
