The event featured teams from MSOE, UW-Platteville, Virginia Tech, and Oakland University competing in the Collegiate Aerial Robotics (CAR) Challenge. The challenge consisted of two randomly paired teams, each providing a ground robot and an aerial robot for a match. During the match, both robots had to obtain and manipulate tennis balls to score points. MSOE student supports YMCA scholars MSOE student Jeff Hanson, who coordinates Project Community Computers (PCC), refurbished and distributed 15 laptop computers to inner-city kids participating in the YMCA Sponsor-a-Scholar program. The computers were donated by MSOE's IT Department. Many of these students have no access to computer technology at home, but can now engage in homework assignments more easily and prepare for post-secondary education pursuits. Not too late for FAFSA Even though MSOE’s priority deadline of March 15 has passed, it’s not too late to complete your 2013-2014 FAFSA. You should submit the FAFSA as soon as possible in order to maximize your financial aid award for the 2013-2014 school year. Last Lecture: May 2 Don’t miss this year’s Last Lecture series featuring Dr. Owe Petersen. The event starts at 6 p.m. in the Todd Wehr Auditorium. The purpose of the series is twofold: to recognize a faculty or staff member for his or her years of service and contributions to the university, and for those in attendance to learn what the speaker truly believes are the most important facets of their human life experiences and accomplishments. If you can’t attend in person, watch the event streaming live online. Coming to a mailbox near you The spring issue of Dimensions magazine is hot off the presses.
