2020-2021 Designation of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Representatives to League Temple City Unified School District Board of Education Meeting AGENDA REPORT DATE: August 26, 2020 TO: Board of Education Members FROM: Dr. Kimberly Fricker, Superintendent SUBJECT: 2020-2021 Designation of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Representatives to League PRESENTED BY: Dr. Kimberly Fricker, Superintendent RECOMMENDATION: Approve 2020-2021 Designation of CIF Representatives to League BACKGROUND: The Board is requested to approve the designation of Temple City High School’s Athletic Director, Eric Chen, as the CIF Representative to League, with Principal, Richard Lohman, as the Alternate. It is a legal requirement that League representatives be so designated. Per Education Code 33353(a)(1), designated representatives are the only people who will be voting on issues that impact athletics at the league and section level. If a governing board does not take appropriate action to designate representatives or this information is not given to Section offices within the required time frame, CIF is required to suspend voting privileges (CIF Constitution, Article 2, Section 25, p.17) for the affected schools.
