Future Prospects Help Us Fundraise! Under 12’s Acorn 4 – Greetland All Rounders 26 Much Improved Performance from Acorn U12's Acorn came up against league leaders Greetland, and found out early on just The York Acorn Club why they are unbeaten. Greetlands size and ball skills were superior to that of Acorn but the Acorn lads never gave up trying, in what turned out to be their best TEAM performance. Leo Baker was again to the fore with some powerful hit ups often stretching the Greetland defence. Clayton Shepherdson again showed the way forward with his terrier like defence in getting the Oppositions Man of the Match. Dan Downes pulled off a string of fine try saving tackles to halt Greetland on Acorns try line thus giving him the Top Tackler award. Debu- tant Lucas Hindle looks set to be a real find, with his elusive running proving to be a thorn in the Greetlands side which resulted with him taking the Man of the Match Award. It was also good to see Reece Stevens back to his best with a fine all round game giving him the Most Improved Player. Try scorer Josh Em- bleton also had a fine game, with him just missing out on several awards. Other notable performances came from Jordan Kellett, Joe Gamble, Kieron Ward and Will Jennings.
