Cast for The Caucasian Chalk Circle at 2011

Nicky Diss - Sister-in-law/Doctor/Ensemble Nicky Diss graduated from the Training Company in 2008. Since then, her credits include Mowgli in The Jungle Book (Image ), Roberta in The Railway Children (Image Musical Theatre), Guinevere in Arthur of Camelot ( Theatre, Bedford), all the female roles in Jim Cartwright's Two (Dispense Theatre) and Juliet in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (, Croydon). Last summer, she toured in Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s open-air production of Beauty and the Beast and will return to the company, in May, to play Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Lindsay Dukes - Prefect Kazbeki/Farmer/Ensemble Lindsay Dukes recently graduated from Oxford University having performed in over a dozen productions including Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Alice in Closer, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Laura in Some Voices and Queen Elizabeth in Don Carlos (Oxford Playhouse). Since then, she has performed at the Roundhouse, Theatre 503, , and Camden People’s Theatre.

Mary Emmot - Lady/Lawyer/Ensemble Mary trained at Oxford School of Drama. She has recently completed a music video for Ben Lorentzen with Manhattan Studios and short film 'Fragments' with Create films. Other film work includes, ‘The Value of Hard Work’, Stickler Productions; ‘Jeffrey’, University of Westminster & ‘Semi- Skimmed’, LFS. She has previously performed at ‘The Space’ in the rework of the Russian cult novel ‘The Master & Marguerite’. Other theatre performance credits include ‘The Seagull’, Nina, Lion & Unicorn; several tours with Walking Forward Theatre; ‘Chokey’, Villeins Theatre; ‘Cinderella’, The Globe Players to name a few.

Elaine Hartley - Singer/Ludovica/Ensemble Elaine Hartley trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Theatre credits include The White Devil (); Puppet Poker Pit - Theatre Souk, (Theatre Delicatessen); Laughs from Leicestershire, (Edinburgh Fringe Festival); Moby Dick! The Musical, (Minack Theatre, Cornwall); The Ticket Collector, (ADC Theatre Cambridge); The Late Box, (Buxton Fringe Festival); The Bald Prima Donna, (New Players Theatre). Elaine is also a singer/songwriter and composer.

Mairi Hayes - Governor's Wife Mairi Hayes trained at The Central School of Speech and Drama (BA Acting). Resent stage work includes Headcount at the National Theatre Studio, Glue Mouth and Ugly Shy Girls for the Southbank Centre and Echoes at Latitude Festival 2010. Resent screen work includes Kirsty Draycott in Holby City, Abby in Cowboys (UK Film Council), Kelly Skipton in the Bill and Roxy in Black No Sugar.

Duncan Leighton - Simon Chachava Duncan trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and graduated with a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre. Roles whilst training include: Valentine White in ‘Babes in Arms’;; Adam/Noah in ‘Children of Eden’; Richard III; Jonny Adel in ‘Steel Pier’ and Shatellia in ‘The Life’. Since graduating, Duncan has appeared at the Kings Head and in the West End in Naked Boys Singing and Nunsense, was the antagonist in the Meteor Mobiles Christmas advertising campaign, and has workshopped ‘In Touch’, the new musical by Dougal Irvine at the . He has featured in a number of music videos and short films, most recently as Miles in ‘Open Door’ which is premiering at various film festivals this season. Duncan looks forward to his first show at The Space.

Tom Lynam - Azdak Since graduating from Birmingham Theatre School (Diploma) and East 15 (BA Hons) respectively, Tom has played Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew as well as The Ghost in a tour of "A ghost at Canterville?". He has also recently starred in the action film "Occupation UK" produced by Halofilms and shot an Ident for the NHS. Tom's spotlight view pin is: 4135-6726-7806.

Charlotte Mafham - Grusha Vachnadze Charlotte’s work in theatre includes the Just So Stories (Elephant's Child/ Camel/ Composer) at The Kings Head, Julius Caesar (Mark Anthony) and Much Ado About Nothing (Ursula/ Conrade) at The Scoop and Timon of Athens (Timandra/ Servilius) at the Baron’s Court Theatre. Last year she toured a production of George and the Dragon (Princess) to primary schools and has appeared in the short film Chasing Footsteps. Charlotte trained at Arts Ed where her roles included Marge (The Laramie Project), Queen Gertrude (Hamlet), Anita (Japes) and Lin (Cloud Nine – short film). She also plays the viola for the charity fundraising Amici Orchestra and is looking forward to working on her first feature length film, STRAYS, this summer. Madeleine MacMahon - Secretary/Shauva/Ensemble Having joined SpaceWorks for their verbatim project "2012" last year, Madeleine was delighted to be invited back to tackle a Brecht classic. Graduating from Hull University in 2008, Madeleine has been involved in a variety of projects, including 3 plays for Camden Fringe with 'Hopeless Endeavour' last summer and scratch for 'Forward Theatre Project'. She is currently embarking upon writing, and devising a comedy project with admitproductions.co.uk. for May.

Karl Niklas - Lavrenti/Governor/Ensemble Karl is a graduate from Arts Educational Schools London. Theatre credits include: 'Marin' in 'Capulets and Montagues' (Royal Shakespeare Company Dell Theatre), 'Harry' in 'Shoot/ Get Treasure/ Repeat' (Arts Ed.), 'Claudio' in 'Much Ado About Nothing' (Arts Ed.) & 'Roger' in 'If I Were You' (Old Red Lion Theatre). TV and Film credits include: ‘Lead Balloon’ (BBC, Open Mike Productions) and ‘Shortcuts 2010’ (Arts Ed.)

Alyssa Noble - Innkeeper/Ironshirt/Ensemble Alyssa works as an actress, choreographer, and children’s author. She graduated from Drama Studio London in 2010, going straight into a production of Hecuba at the New Diorama with Lazarus Theatre Company. Alyssa is currently choreographing a production of We Will Rock You, and is promoting her first book, which has recently go on sale.

Rachel Nussbaum - Singer/Mother-in-Law/Ensemble Theatre includes BodyCount (Ono Theatre Company Tour); Can You Spot the Difference? (The Albany); Bardathon 2009 (The Scoop); Graceless (Assembly Hall); Echoes from the Deep Song (); Much Ado About Nothing, The Weir, The Singer, The Cherry Orchard (East 15). Short film includes Modo and Mahu, 'Tis the Season... Television includes Worst Case Scenario comedy sketch show pilot. Rachel trained at East 15 and Warwick University.

Kiel O’Shea - Corporal/Monk/Ensemble Kiel joins the cast having graduated from the MA Acting course at Arts Educational schools, London in the summer. Chalk Circle marks Kiel’s first appearance at The Space, having made his professional London stage debut in October in the hit, American comedy The Irish Curse. In between stage appearances Kiel has worked on two short films and completed a residency with one of the leading special needs TIE theatre companies, Bamboozle.

Gemma Rook - Peasant Woman/Doctor/Ensemble Gemma trained at Aberystwyth University and graduated in 2007. Roles during training include Masha in Three Sisters, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. Recent professional theatre credits include Serena in Fame (no. 1 Italian tour), Sian in Connection Failed (Edinburgh Fringe 2010), Lucille in Jackajack (UK tour for Tuckedin Productions), Rosie in Viva La Faff! () and Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream (TYPE). Gemma has also performed in several short films and CSI London - a spoof series of CSI Miami! As well as acting, singing and dancing Gemma directs for Kinetic Theatre company and teaches dance and gymnastics.

Molly Small - Cook/Ironshirt/Ensemble Molly recently graduated from the postgraduate acting course at Mountview; enjoying such roles as Antigone, Viola and Nina from The Seagull whilst in training. Prior to this, she worked on productions of Hysteria, Amadeus, and Pinter’s One for the Road, and has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival three times. She is also currently rehearsing for a production of Agamemnon with the London Actors’ Group.
