Jay, St. Louis Cardinals outfielder, World Series champion and Miami native, along with other Major League Baseball stars and members of the public, joined in the fundraising/bowling fun. Proceeds will support Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s many positive programs for thousands of area youth. In addition to exciting bowling matches, guests enjoyed red carpet arrivals, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and more. Attendees were matched with the athletes to bowl. Jay, who played baseball for years as a child at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, was thrilled to help give back to the organization that played an important part in his life. “We’re thrilled by the wonderful response to this event, which raises funds to help change children’s lives. I look forward to raising even more funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade in future years.” In addition to Jay, athletes in attendance included Tony Cruz and Jason Motte of the St. Louis Cardinals, Yonder Alonso of the San Diego Padres, Tyler Greene of the Atlanta Braves, John Mayberry Jr. of the Philadelphia Phillies, Paco Rodriguez of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Manny Machado and Jemile Weeks of the Baltimore Orioles, Danny Valencia of the Kansas City Royals, and Gaby Sanchez and Tony Sanchez of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
