About the CVF CVF Participating Countries The Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) is an international partnership of small countries highly vulnerable to a warming planet. Afghanistan Ethopia Maldives Tanzania Eleven nations representing countries threatened by climate change gathered near Malé, Maldives in November 2009 and adopted the first Declaration that launched the Climate Vulnerable Forum. Bangladesh Ghana Nepal Timor-Leste The said Declaration expressed alarm at human-induced changes to the climate.
The Climate Vulnerable Forum has since been active in building cooperation, Bardados Kenya Philippines Tuvalu knowledge and awareness on global warming issues.
The membership grew since 2009. To date, there are 20 participating countries Bhutan Kiribati Rwanda Vanuatu namely: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Barbados, Bhutan, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Kiribati, Madagascar, Maldives, Nepal, Philippines, Rwanda, Saint Lucia, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Tuvalu, Costa Rica Madagascar Saint Lucia Viet Nam Vanuatu, and Vietnam.
History & Highlights of CVF
Maldives, 2009-2010 • The Forum first met near Male, Maldives in November 2009 where 11 nations gathered adopting a first declaration that expressed alarm at human-induced changes to the climate.
Kiribati, 2010-2011 • In 2010, the Forum's 2nd Chair, Kiribati, adopted the Ambo Declaration together with other governments ahead of the UN Climate Conference at Cancun, Mexico (COP16). High-Level Delegates at the first Climate Vulnerable Forum at Male', • The Forum issued its first Climate Vulnerability Monitor report, Maldives, November 2009 – Source: Maldives Presidency “The State of the Climate Crisis”.
