His six extra points against CCSU gave him 100 for his career, making him only the fourth player in BSU history to reach that mark. Hagee was 3-for-4 on field goal attempts in the Notre Dame game and connected on a career-best 49-yarder in the fourth quarter.

DANGEROUS RETURN UNITS • Ball State led the MAC in kick return average (21.7 yards per return) and ranked second in punt return average (8.7 ypr) in 2017. Junior KR Malik Dunner earned third team All-MAC accolades thanks to finishing second in the league in kick return average (24.4 ypr), highlighted by a 93-yard touchdown against UAB. The Cardinals have returned only three kick- offs this season. PR Justin Hall has the team’s longest punt return of the year with a 22-yarder against Central Connecticut.

SPECIAL TEAMS CREATES FIRST TAKEAWAY • Ball State’s kickoff team generated the first takeaway of the season in the second quarter against Central Connecticut. Sophomore Brett Anderson poked the ball free from the CCSU return man for his first career forced fumble, and junior Mitch Larsen pounced on it for his first career recovery.
