● Keep being a sponge, going to stuff, and learning a lot! ● Attend one career development event each semester. ● If you haven’t yet done so, attend one Welcome to Career Development Info Session. ● Start to think about and build strong pieces for your portfolio. ● Start to learn about cool places to intern. ● Create a resume and cover letter using our Resume & Cover Letter Guide. ● Check out our online Resources for internship listings, professional organizations, and more. ● Consider taking your first internship in the summer following sophomore year. ● Join SVA Portfolios to showcase some of your stronger work in spring or summer. JUNIORS

● Refine your resume and a cover letter. ● Attend any of our workshops and events relevant to you. ● Schedule a one-on-one career counseling appointment with us. ● Talk to your peers and upperclassmen about their positive internship experiences. ● Investigate and apply to internships during junior year or in the following summer. ● Apply for portfolio reviews hosted by our department. ● Keep being a sponge! SENIORS & GRADUATE STUDENTS

● Attend any of our workshops and events relevant to you. ● Meet with a career counselor. ● Seek internships that will provide the most opportunity for learning and networking. ● Apply for portfolio reviews hosted by our department. ● Join professional organizations for a student rate. ● Ask 2-4 instructors to serve as professional reference for you upon graduation. ● Focus on your thesis and portfolio. ● Keep being a sponge!
