It is a result of numerous hours of searching the Internet and FerrariChat to find, study and learn about these classics. Many owners enjoy working on their own cars and due to the age of the car, detailed repair or maintenance write ups are often limited or difficult to find. When one enthusiast shares their experience of doing a repair or maintenance event, it is extremely valuable to other enthusiasts to learn and perhaps try the activity themselves. This collection of DIY descriptions does not replace shop manuals or professional mechanics, but is meant to augment them by providing the reader a better understanding of the repair or maintenance event. In addition, the reader should develop an appreciation for the time, effort and knowledge that goes into maintaining these classic cars. I would like to express my appreciation to the many people that contributed their time in writing the DIY experiences. The descriptions contained in this collection are more common DIY work items I collected and would attempt based on my current mechanical ability and knowledge. -

Ruthless Pursuit of Power: Lucky Seven Edition the Mystique of the Z/28'S 7-Liter, 7000-RPM, LS7 by Hib Halverson, Content Director!
Ruthless Pursuit of Power: Lucky Seven Edition The Mystique of the Z/28's 7-Liter, 7000-RPM, LS7 by Hib Halverson, Content Director! ! !Oops! Darn those pesky leaks! Image: Various Web Locations. In 2012, Camaro Nation got a nice Christmas present when the "VIN Card" for 2014 leaked out of GM. It listed "LS7", the seven-liter engine formerly used in Corvette C6 Z06es, as a regular production option for the Camaro in '14.! Of course, official GM denied the leak was accurate. As Chevrolet's spokesperson for everything Camaro, Monte Doran, told us right at the end of 2012, "It is our policy to not discuss future products, so I cannot comment on plans for the 2014 Camaro. I can tell you that a very early draft of our 2014 VIN card was leaked online. It was a preliminary version that included both inaccurate and incomplete information."! Yeah, right.! Three months later, at the New York Auto Show, Chevrolet announced a limited run of Camaro Z/28s powered by LS7 427s.! ! ! 2014 Camaro Z/28. Image: GM Communications This car ain't nothin' but a trackrat's hot rod. You'll get the 427, the Camaro version of which is estimated to produce 500-horsepower, six-speed manual, the iron-case drive axle, coolers, a suspension more aggressive than a ZL1's along with the carbon brakes once used on C6 Vette ZR1s and Z06/Z07s. What you won't get is, also, interesting. These 427 Camaros are serious track cars with no acoustic insulation or trunk carpet, no power seats, no HIDs, no fog lamps, a single speaker sound system and optional air conditioning.! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! The Z/28's 500-hp surprise. -

Saleen's Supercar
Hidden Creek Racing Hidden Creek Racing was a partner with Saleen. The partnership included racing and funding the development of new Saleen automobiles. Hidden Creek owned Saleen SR 00-0004. Hidden Creek and Saleen jointly sponsored the racing operations of the SR. In 2001, Saleen debuted its new supercar, the S7. The development of the S7 was funded by Tony Johnson, of Hidden Creek Racing. Tony Johnson was the head of both Hidden Creek and of Saleen Performance. When the S7 was introduced, Ken Gross, of Forbes Magazine, covered the event. Saleen's Supercar By Ken Gross From Henry Ford, Ettore Bugatti, and Walter P. Chrysler, to Enzo Ferrari and John DeLorean, car company founders have long sought a lasting memorial on the badge of an automobile. Although the wrecking yards of history are littered with once-great emblems that failed--names like Duesenberg, Cord, Tucker and, most recently, Oldsmobile--that hasn't prevented determined men from trying. One of the most recent attempts is being made in the rarified atmosphere of top-line, high-performance supercars--until now, the exclusive province of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and McLaren--designed by racer, car builder and would-be automotive legend, Steve Saleen. Saleen proudly debuted his 2001 Saleen S7, a 200-mph, 550-horsepower, mid-engined road-going supercar, at the Monterey Historic Races on Aug. 19, 2000. Surrounded by the auto press and dozens of curious vintage racers, Saleen confidently stated that he expects to sell 300 to 400 of the sleek, $375,000 S7s over a four-year period. "It's always been my dream to build a supercar," Saleen said proudly, "and here it is at last." Financing for this ambitious project has come from an "angel" who shares Saleen's dream of high-octane carmaking.
