One free speech zone isn’t enough

While Georgia Southern has every right to designate free speech zones on campus, it doesn’t mean that it necessarily should. Monday night, members of the Sons of Liberty Riders showed up to protest at a lecture by Bill Ayers only to be told that they could not to do so since the group had not signed up 48 hours in advance. But, even if the group had signed up to protest, they would have been sent to the grassy area near the Russell Union Rotunda, even though the event was at the Performing Arts Center.
