R Mozambique: Flooding ev ué In Zambezia Province, flooding due to heavy rains has affected the lowlands including Maganja da Costa, Mocuba and Namacurra districts, where a total of Buzi 575 families have been affected (2,844 persons) and 2 classrooms BUZI BASIN BUZI BASIN ⛳☪ collapsed. Roads were reportedly cut between the district capital and Nante and Buzi villages of Morneia, Morniua and Ntabo. Preliminary agricultural damages i z u indicate an estimated loss of 6,532 ha out of 1,753,410 ha. Displaced persons B were accomodated in public facilities and communities are reportedly abandoning the lowlands; Local Authorities are monitoring the situation. However as of 24 Feb e the is below alert level with a tendency to decrease, although a M Sav w flood scenario is still present. e n e zi G o In , heavy rains affected Erati, Moma and Memba districts, with v u a total of 35 houses partially destoyed, 34 flooded, 109 precarious houses r o collapsed and 1 injured. However local authorities have sufficient capacity to attend to the occurences to date.

In the northern the Lugenda river is above alert level at INHAMBANE L GAZA Congerenge, while in 2 bridges over the Megaruma and i m C p h Messalo rivers were reportedly under water.
