  • PRESENTATION of the COMMUNIQUÉS of the GENERAL CHAPTER 1. from January
[Translated from Original Spanish] Thy Kingdom Come! PRESENTATION OF THE COMMUNIQUÉS OF THE GENERAL CHAPTER 1. From January 8th through February 25th, 2014, the Extraordinary General Chapter of the Legion of Christ took place in Rome. His Eminence, Cardinal Velasio De Paolis, CS, and his two counselors, Fr. Gianfranco Ghirlanda, SJ, and Fr. Agostino Montan, CSI, presided. Sixty- one chapter fathers participated, 19 ex officio and 42 elected by the nine territories of the congregation and the centers of Rome. 2. This Extraordinary General Chapter marks the end of the journey of in-depth revision that the congregation has travelled since the apostolic visitation, which took place during 2009- 2010, and the naming of a Pontifical Delegate in the summer of 2010. Our principal tasks in the Chapter, as Pope Benedict XVI1 indicated and as Pope Francis confirmed2, were to revise the Constitutions and to elect a new central government for the congregation. 3. In the first days, in light of the reports that the Pontifical Delegate and the pro-General Director submitted, we focused on analyzing the life of the Congregation since the ordinary General Chapter that took place in 2005. One of the outcomes of the intense exchange of ideas that took place in those days was the communiqué that the Chapter approved on January 20th, 2014, about the journey of renewal of the Congregation. This same day, the elections of the new central government took place. Once the election had been confirmed and the Holy See made the two nominations that it had reserved to itself, the elections of Fr.

After celebrating our 50th Anniversary on December 8th, 2019, we began the new year with our General Assembly held in Rome. 45 delegates from around the world gathered to discern and define the projection of our Society of Apostolic Life for the next 6 years. Our mission as Consecrated Women, like that of all Regnum Christi vocations, is to make present the mystery of Christ, who goes out to meet people in the concrete realities of their lives, reveals to them the love of his heart, gathers them together and forms them as apostles and Christian leaders.

The education method we use to integrate our Catholic identity in all we do is called Integral Formation, which was developed by the Legion of Christ. We focus on forming the entire student: the intellect, the spiritual, the human character and the apostolic heart. • FAITH & Reason
FAITH & REASON THE JOURNAL of CHRISTENDOM COLLEGE 1987 | Vol. XIII, No. 2 Instaurare Omnia in Christo: A Consideration of the Lay Apostolate Kevin Walsh The Church, ever faithful to the need to read the signs of the times, has placed an ever greater impor- tance upon the role of the laity to bring Christ, who is “the Way, the Truth and the Life,” to this troubled world of ours. In this fine article, Kevin Barry Walsh gives an excellent overview of the role of the Catholic laity in the light of recent Church teaching. “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.... For the body does not consist of one member but of many.... But as it is, God arranged the organs in the body, each one of them, as he chose.” (I Cor. 12: 12; 14; 18.) HE CHURCH, IN HER LONG HISTORY, HAS PASSED THROUGH MANY CRISES. HER Divine Spouse, Jesus Christ, can, however, bring a much greater good out of these difficulties, for as Lord of History, He steadily brings her to the completion of His plan for her. Looking at the Church through the ages, one can see that as the she went through one doctrinal crisis after another, she was forced to examine specific points of doctrine more closely and reflect on them. This often bore fruit in a clear definition by a council, a Roman pontiff, or even a good theologian. The result is a clearer per- ception of what the Catholic Church believes and is.

REGNUM CHRISTI Discernment Course Discernment Course: Session 1 A Gift for the Church The Vocation to Regnum Christi This document offers information to assist those who are discerning a vocation to Regnum Christi. Introduction Regnum Christi was Born as an ecclesial movement of apostolate that seeks to make present the Kingdom of Christ through the sanctification of its memBers and through a personal and communal apostolic action so that Jesus Christ may reign in the hearts of all people and of society. (Preamble SRCF) Regnum Christi members live in dozens of countries, speak many different languages and represent multiple cultures. They hail from a wide spectrum of economic-social status. They are young and old, married and single. They are Catholic. What they share is a love for Christ and dedication to the New Evangelization. They believe they have a responsibility to evangelize culture and balance personal spiritual formation with apostolic zeal. They are contemplative and evangelizing. Our membership consists of about 21,500 youths, adults, deacons, and priests and 10,000 in our ECYD organization for boys and girls, in more than 30 countries. Our History Regnum Christi began as one of the new ecclesial Movements in the church. It was made up of a religious order of priests (The Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ), the Lay Consecrated Men of Regnum Christi, Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi and the lay members who live single or married in the secular world. The Legionaries of Christ are a religious Congregation of priests, of pontifical rite, founded in 1941 in Mexico.
