The “Valkyrie” (Heads Up Adapter) Description: The Valkyrie Display adapter was designed to fit our standard vertical displays, such as the “Eagle” and “Falcon” line of 2.5” H X .865” wide displays. This “heads up” display adapter with the adjustable mounting brackets allows the display to be mounted in a flush mount below the glare shield pointing up. The Valkyrie mounting frame slides over the face of the AOA case and has four plastic tipped set screws that tighten against the front lip of our display. Once installed, the lens is tilted so the AOA display is reflected and viewed in the pilot’s peripheral vision. This glass allows the pilot to see through the glass and still see the colored segments. NOTE: When the display is mounted, it is positioned upside down so the reflected image has the RED at the top of the glass!!!!! Glare Shield Mounting Option 1 AOA display is mounted Mounting Option 2 on top of glare shield. AOA Display is recessed into the glare shield. Most installations are completed as seen in Option 2. There must be 1.500” clearance under the glare shield to allow for the AOA case and the electrical cable clearance. The adjustable mounting brackets allow for thicknesses of glare shield and desired heights of the display mounting. To mount as seen in Option1, there are two, 6-32 pre-threaded holes in the back of the display. 4 set screws to The heads up attach the frame glass is pilot to the AOA adjustable for display. viewing or can be pushed down flat when not in use. Adjustable mounting bracket screws attach to the side of the AOA display. Hidden Heroines: The Portrayal of Women in American Superhero Comics By: Esmé Smith Junior Research Project Seminar Introduction The first comic books came out in the 1930s. Superhero comics quickly became one of the most popular genres. Today, they remain incredibly popular and influential. I have been interested in superhero comics for several years now, but one thing I often noticed was that women generally had much smaller roles than men and were also usually not as powerful. Female characters got significantly less time in the story devoted to them than men, and most superhero teams only had one woman, if they had any at all. Because there were so few female characters it was harder for me to find a way to relate to these stories and characters. If I wanted to read a comic that centered around a female hero I had to spend a lot more time looking for it than if I wanted to read about a male hero. Another thing that I noticed was that when people talk about the history of superhero comics, and the most important and influential superheroes, they almost only talk about male heroes. Wonder Woman was the only exception to this. This made me curious about other influential women in comics and their stories. Whenever I read about the history of comics I got plenty of information on how the portrayal of superheroes changed over time, but it always focused on male heroes, so I was interested in learning how women were portrayed in comics and how that has changed.

Van Tassell ABSTRACT It is a widely accepted notion that a child can only be called stupid for so long before they believe it, can only be treated in a particular way for so long before that is the only way that they know. Why is that notion never applied to how we treat, address, and present religion and the religious to children and young adults? In recent years, questions have been continuously brought up about how we portray violence, sexuality, gender, race, and many other issues in popular media directed towards young people, particularly video games.
