McCarroll got his first drum kit when he was six years old. McCarroll had met Paul McGuigan while playing for the local football team at a young age. Together with McGuigan's friend Boneheadthey formed a band called The Rain and hired Chris Hutton as their singer, but he was sacked and replaced by Liam Gallagher not so long after, whom McCarroll had also known through childhood. Liam decided to change the name to Oasis, inspired by a poster for Inspiral Carpets that was hanging in his room. Soon after Liam's brother Noel joined. McCarroll has stated in his book that he was closely involved in the creation of several of Oasis's songs, including " Supersonic ", despite Noel being given sole credit as songwriter. Noel and McCarroll got on during childhood, but as Oasis gradually became famous, the relationship between the two faltered. Noel had repeatedly publicly slammed McCarroll's drumming ability, saying it was not good enough for a number one single. On the last day of AprilMcCarroll's departure was announced and soon the fight was abandoned as the main reason — instead, Oasis explained, his drumming just was not up to it. Oasis producer Owen Morris said of McCarroll, "Tony was quiet and always polite to me, but seemed out of his depth…so I think Tony did well to survive as long as he did in Oasis the Truth: My Life as Oasiss Drummer. Arguing McCarroll was owed his part of the band's five-album deal with Creation, the case hoped to set a legal precedent, as McCarroll would have claimed compensation for two LPs on which he had not played. The settlement provoked considerable reaction one headline questioned "Is this the most stupid man in showbiz? In an article building up to Oasis' seventh studio album Dig Out Your Soul in Q magazine in Oasis the Truth: My Life as Oasiss Drummer, it was revealed that McCaroll was last seen in performing with the band Raika. All three of us would become addicted to playing and enjoying music. The drums became an obsession for me and I played morning, noon and night. I could see the spit on his screaming lips. It would also lead to a feeling of distrust against the forces of law enforcement, and a belief that if we were bold enough we could get anyway with anything. Would recommend to music fans. Each band member has their own side of the story, and I just hope that one day "rkids" Liam and Noel write their own books. I'm not so sure her son was as happy. Thank you! This dissertation sets out to answer this question by focusing on local understandings of climate change and the policy priorities that result from them in Miami. Through a historical study that spans from the 1920s to today and 88 hourlong interviews, I demonstrate that climate change is a historically contingent, contested, and localized concept defined by power relationships. Through a historical investigation of the narratives that connect environmental policies with segregation and efforts to displace Miami’s Black residents over more than 80 years, I show how historic understandings of race and the environment inform debates about what climate change means and what to do about it today. This investigation shows how Miami’s current response to climate change has been shaped by its history as a colonial city built on the maximization of land value and exclusionary planning and policies. I find that dominant understandings of climate change in Miami have been rooted in concern for the effects of sea level rise on property prices, directing policy money toward shoreline areas while continuing to encourage a building boom that is accelerating gentrification.

With their propensity for unconventional, anti-establishment, and sometimes lawless behaviour, rock stars may initially appear incompatible with legal thinking and its concerns, such as justice, rules and rulers, and considered decision making. However, opening a ‘channel’ between law and music, it is argued, performs dual functions. First, comparing the activities of theorists and rockers vividly displays the workings of jurisprudence. Second, the pairing of academic understandings of the law with popular culture reveals how ‘everyday people’ understand and discuss jurisprudential concepts and issues. Jurisprudential reading using popular culture creates the possibility of insights into theory that the theory may be unable to recognise in itself. Not only do rock stars perform jurisprudence, they problematise jurisprudence, exposing the issues, dilemmas, and paradoxes within jurisprudence’s central themes.
