Pitcairn Islands Tourism is pleased to present our NEW 8-day small group Total Solar Eclipse Voyage to Oeno and Pitcairn Island. On Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019, a total solar eclipse will take place in Earth’s southern hemisphere. The eclipse will occur almost entirely over the Southern Pacific Ocean, but it will make landfall at Pitcairn's Oeno Island. As Oeno lies in the "Path to Totality" of the 2019 solar eclipse, this unique tour will offer you the Pitcairn chance of a lifetime to view this historic event as Island well as visit Pitcairn Island, the most remote Group inhabited island on earth with a population of less than 50 residents--many of whom are direct descendants of the HMAV Bounty Mutineers and their Polynesian consorts. Oeno Island will be arguably the most favorable place in the world to observe the 2019 Total Solar Eclipse where the duration of totality will be 2m 48s and the altitude of the sun above the horizon will be 32 degrees. 2019 PITCAIRN ISLANDS 8-DAY SOLAR ECLIPSE VOYAGE About the Pitcairn Islands Group The Pitcairn Islands Group forms the UK’s only Overseas Territory in the vast Pacific Ocean. Located near the centre of the planet’s largest ocean, the isolation of the Pitcairn Islands is truly staggering. The island group lies around 2,200 km from Tahiti, 2,100 km from Easter Island, and over 5,000 km (approximately the distance from London to New York) away from both New Zealand and South America, which represent the CREDIT: STEWART McPHERSON SEE APPENDIX FOR LARGER VERSION OF MAP nearest large land masses. Pitcairn Island is thought to be the youngest of the group, at around 0.75–1 million years old, and it harbours varied terrain that rises up to 347 meters in elevation. The territory comprises Ducie, Oeno, Pitcairn, and UNESCO's Henderson Island. The four islands are spread over several hundred kilometers of the South Pacific. Henderson is a raised coral atoll (37 km2 in area), whereas Pitcairn is a rugged volcanic outcrop (4.5 km2), while Oeno and Ducie are small, low-lying coral atolls with dry land areas of just 0.7 km2 and 0.5 km2 respectively. 3 2019 PITCAIRN ISLANDS TOUR PRICING & INCLUSIONS Tour Dates: Tour Inclusions: (weather and sea conditions allowing): Commences in Air Tahiti return flights from Papeete to Mangareva Papeete, French to board the MV Bravo Supporter Twin share cabin aboard the MV Bravo Supporter Polynesia Saturday (Mangareva / Pitcairn Islands return) All meals 29th of June provided (6-nights onboard) 2.5-days on Pitcairn Island, home to the Concludes in Papeete, descendants for HMAV Bounty mutineers. 1-night accommodation in a Pitcairn Island French Polynesia homestay, including all all transfers and meals on Saturday 6th of July island. Libyan Eclipse 2006 HIGHLIGHTS PACK Libyan Eclipse 2006 By Anthony Ham Anthony’s love affair with Libya began on his first visit in 2001, and by the time he’d fin- ished Lonely Planet’s guide to Libya a few months later, the country had won his heart. First drawn to the country by its isolation and by his experience elsewhere of the Arab hospitality that puts to shame media stereotyping about the region, Anthony quickly made numerous Libyan friends and set about pursuing his new passion with them – exploring the inexpressible beauty of the Sahara. A full-time writer and photographer, Anthony returns to Libya from his home in Madrid whenever he can and loves the fact that the world is finally discovering that Libya is so much more than Colonel Gaddafi. v Word Up! | Lesson 3 | April 20, 2013 The Bounty ’s Bible Sabbath Afternoon | Today’s Reading 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 (New International Version ) “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” Hebrews 4:12 (Contemporary English Version ) “What God has said isn't only alive and active! It is sharper than any double edged sword. His word can cut through our spirits and souls and through our joints and marrow, until it discovers the desires and thoughts of our hearts.” Child Guidance , p. 506 “The truths of the Bible, received, will uplift the mind from its earthliness and debasement. If the Word of God were appreciated as it should be, both young and old would possess an inward rectitude, strength of principle that would enable them to resist temptation.” Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing , pp. 18, 19 "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." Matthew 5:6 . “Righteousness is holiness, likeness to God, and ‘God is love.’ 1 John 4:16. It is conformity to the law of God, for ‘all Thy commandments are righteousness’ (Psalm 119:172), and ‘love is the fulfilling of the law’ (Romans 13:10). Righteousness is love, and love is the light and the life of God. The righteousness of God is embodied in Christ. We receive righteousness by receiving Him. “Not by painful struggles or wearisome toil, not by gift or sacrifice, is righteousness obtained; but it is freely given to every soul who hungers and thirsts to receive it.
