For your work to be reproducible, it needs to be code-based; don’t touch that mouse! Windows vs. Mac OSX vs. Linux Remote vs. Not 2 The Windows operating system is not very programmer-friendly. NESUG 2007 Programming Beyond the Basics Use Perl Regular Expressions in SAS® Shuguang Zhang, WRDS, Philadelphia, PA ABSTRACT Regular Expression (Regexp) enhance search and replace operations on text. In SAS®, the INDEX, SCAN and SUBSTR functions along with concatenation (||) can be used for simple search and replace operations on static text. These functions lack flexibility and make searching dynamic text difficult, and involve more function calls. Regexp combines most, if not all, of these steps into one expression. This makes code less error prone, easier to maintain, clearer, and can improve performance. This paper will discuss three ways to use Perl Regular Expression in SAS: 1. Use SAS PRX functions; 2. Use Perl Regular Expression with filename statement through a PIPE such as ‘Filename fileref PIPE 'Perl programm'; 3. Use an X command such as ‘X Perl_program’; Three typical uses of regular expressions will also be discussed and example(s) will be presented for each: 1. [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] Abstract—Software language models have achieved promising results predicting code completion usages, and several industry studies have described successful IDE integrations. Recently, accuracy in autocompletion prediction improved 12.8% [1] from training on a real-world dataset collected from programmers’ IDE activity. But what if limited examples of IDE autocompletion in the target programming language are available for model training? In this paper, we investigate the efficacy of pretraining autocompletion models on non-IDE, non-autocompletion, and different-language example code sequences. We find that these unsupervised pretrainings improve model accuracy by over 50% on very small fine-tuning datasets and over 10% on 50k labeled examples. We confirm the real-world impact of these pretrainings in an online setting through A/B testing on thousands of IDE autocompletion users, finding that pretraining is responsible for increases of up to 6.63% autocompletion usage. Here we focus on two of the most popular ones, tcsh and bash. Other shells tend to be very similar to one or both of these. Your Unix account has a preset login shell for you, typically tcsh in academic settings and bash in Linux. When you log in, a shell of the given type is automatically started for you. (This can be seen in the file /etc/passwd.) If you wish to temporarily run a different shell, just type its name. If you wish to change your login shell, run the chsh command. 1.2 Command Commonality Among Shells Most of what people tend to think of as “basic Unix commands” are actually shell commands which are common to almost all of the shells. So for example you could type cd /abc/def to change to the directory /abc/def in either tcsh or bash.1 2 Shell Variables 2.1 Introduction to Shell Variable Syntax The tcsh shell uses “set” and = for the assignment operation. For example, 1Technically speaking, the “change directory” command for Unix itself is chdir(), a function which must be called from a program.
