The following fourteen taxa are lectotypified: Gonolobus bayatensis Urb., G. broadwayae Schltr., G. ciliatus Schltr., G. dictyopetalus Urb. & Ekman, G. ekmanii Urb., G. nipensis Urb., G. sintenisii Schltr., G. tigrinus Griseb., G. tobagensis Urb., G. variifolius Schltr., Ibatia mollis Griseb., Poicilla costata Urb., Poicilla tamnifolia Griseb., and Poicillopsis crispiflora Urb. Gonolobus grenadensis Schltr. is neotypified. A new name and a new combination in Matelea Aubl. are respectively proposed for Jacaima parvifolia Proctor and J. costata (Urb.) Rendle var. goodfriendii Proctor. RESUMEN Se aportan tipos y su localización de taxa de la subtribu Gonolobinae (Apocynaceae: Asclepiadoideae) en las Indias Occidentales. Dischidia rimicola Kerr is illustrated for the first time. All three species are associated with tree- nesting ants of the genus Crematogaster. Presentation experiments with seeds of D. rimicola indi- cate that they are attractive to the ants. The possible affinity between D. dohtii and the enigmatic D. khasiana Hook.f. from north-eastern India is discussed; D. khasiana is lectotypified. A key to the 14 species of Dischidia documented from Vietnam and Laos and a list of exsiccatae are provided. INTRODUCTION The genus Dischidia R.Br. comprises approximately eighty species of epiphytic vines in Indochina, Malesia, Melanesia, and the east Pacific. Many species grow on the nests of arboreal ants (Kaufmann et al., 2001 and references therein). Species of sec- tion Ascidophora K. Schum. have highly modified pitcher leaves that function as ant houses (Janzen, 1974). While it has recently been the subject of floristic treatments (Rintz, 1980; Li et al., 1995; Forster et al., 1996; Jagtap & Singh, 1999) and studies of its ecological associations with ants (Treseder et al., 1995; Kaufmann et al., 2001), both the taxonomy and ecology of Dischidia remain poorly understood through most of its range. We made field observations on three species in the highlands of Laos, in- cluding two that are here described as new. -

Therefore, the current study was designed and carried out during the past decade. A list of LFPs for 207 butterfly species (Super family Papilionoidea) of Sri Lanka is presented based on local studies and includes 785 plant-butterfly combinations and 480 plant species. Many of these combinations are reported for the first time in Sri Lanka. The impact of introducing new plants on the dynamics of abundance and distribution of butterflies, the possibility of butterflies being pests on crops, and observations of LFPs of rare butterfly species, are discussed. These are Aboriginal lands lying about 20 km to the north of Darwin, Northern Territory. The islands are of generally low relief with relatively simple geological patterning. They have the highest rainfall in the Northern Territory (to about 2000 mm annual average rainfall in the far north-west of Melville and north of Bathurst). The human population of about 2000 people lives mainly in the three towns of Nguiu, Milakapati and Pirlangimpi. Tall forests dominated by Eucalyptus miniata, E. tetrodonta, and Corymbia nesophila cover about 75% of the island area. These include the best developed eucalypt forests in the Northern Territory. The Tiwi Islands also include nearly 1300 rainforest patches, with floristic composition in many of these patches distinct from that of the Northern Territory mainland. Although the total extent of rainforest on the Tiwi Islands is small (around 160 km 2 ), at an NT level this makes up an unusually high proportion of the landscape and comprises between 6 and 15% of the total NT rainforest extent. The Tiwi Islands also include nearly 200 km 2 of “treeless plains”, a vegetation type largely restricted to these islands. -

In the present study enumerates 116 ethno-medicinal climbing plant species belonging to 37 families used by the tribal communities of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in treatment of several indigenous diseases. P1-33BEL-000177 – Final Report FINAL REPORT NAMIBIA BBI SSFA April 2020 Development of Institutional Synergy to Enable Inventorying and Cultivation of Priority Species for Conservation in the Southern Africa Region: Medicinal Plants in the Apocynaceae Family The overall objective of this Project is to foster long-term cooperation between key and relevant Institutions in Southern Africa on addressing the unsustainable exploitation of medicinal plants in the Region. The initial focus is a group of plants in the Apocynaceae family that recently became popular in northern Namibia. The project endeavours to i) Conduct traditional and molecular-based taxonomic work to clarify the identity and phylogeny of the targeted species, ii) Contribute to an existing public DNA sequence database (e.g. NCBI), iii) Establish propagation initiatives to reduce pressure on the wild resource, and iv) Develop policy to accord the targeted species legal protection in Namibia and other range states. i) and ii) constitute the immediate Project objectives to which this CBD Bio-Bridge Initiative Small-Scale Funding contributes, through six key activities. All six activities were successfully implemented over the period March 2019 – March 2020, as detailed in the following report: 1. Outline in detail the activities implemented during the Project. Activity 1: Collection trip to northern Namibia – Herbarium voucher specimens of the targeted plants and leaf samples for molecular analysis will be collected from various sites in northern Namibia. Feedback: Herbarium plant specimens, leaf samples as well as soil samples were collected from 85 sites across nine Namibian regions in March – April 2019 (see Collection sites 2019 in “Report_BBI Namibia”). -
