Conventions used in this guide Conventions used in this guide In this user guide, we use the following symbols to indicate useful and important information: This is a note. A note often gives additional information, such as what happens when you choose to do or not to do a certain action. A note also provides information that may only be applicable to some situations. This is a tip. A tip gives you an alternative way to do a particular step or procedure, or lets you know of an option that you may find helpful. This indicates important information that you need in order to accomplish a certain task or to get a feature to work properly. This provides safety precaution information, that is, information that you need to be careful about to prevent potential problems. 8 Getting started Getting started Inside the box You will find the following inside the box: § HTC Jetstream § USB cable § Power adapter § Quick guide § Safety and regulatory guide HTC Jetstream Front panel 1. USB connector 9 Getting started Back panel 1. Subwoofer 2. Top cover 3. 8 megapixel camera 4. Dual LED flash 5. Volume controls 6. Left and right speakers Top cover Removing the top cover Remove the top cover to access the SIM card and storage card slots. 1. Turn off HTC Jetstream and hold it securely with the front facing down. 2. Starting from the small opening along the top panel, lift the top cover and remove it completely. Replacing the top cover 1. With HTC Jetstream facing down, insert the small tabs of the top cover into the exposed side of HTC Jetstream. 2. Press the top cover down to lock it in place. 10 Getting started SIM card You'll need a SIM card inserted in HTC Jetstream to use a data connection. Both 1.8V and 3V SIM cards can be used. Inserting the SIM card 1. Turn off HTC Jetstream and hold it securely with the front facing down. 2. Take the top cover off. 3. With the SIM card’s gold contacts facing down and its cut-off corner facing out, insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot. 4. Push the SIM card all the way in until it clicks into place. Removing the SIM card Make sure to switch off HTC Jetstream before removing your SIM card. 1. Take the top cover off. 2. Push the SIM card in to eject it from its slot. 3. Slide the SIM card out from the SIM card slot. 11 Getting started Storage card HTC Jetstream comes with a tablet storage that you can use to store your photos, videos, and music. If you need more storage space, you can insert a storage card into HTC Jetstream. Inserting the storage card 1. Take the top cover off. 2. Insert the storage card into the storage card slot with its gold contacts facing down and push it until it clicks into place. Removing the storage card If HTC Jetstream is on you must first "unmount" the storage card before removing it to prevent corrupting or damaging the files in the storage card. 1. Take the top cover off. 2. Push the storage card in to eject it from its slot. 3. Slide the storage card out from its slot. Unmounting the storage card When you need to remove the storage card while HTC Jetstream is on, unmount the storage card first to prevent corrupting or damaging the files in the storage card. 1. From the Home screen, tap > Settings. 2. Tap Storage > Unmount SD card. 12 Getting started Battery HTC Jetstream uses a rechargeable battery. How long the battery can last before it needs recharging depends on how you use HTC Jetstream. The features and accessories you use can affect battery life. For example, leaving your Bluetooth® connection always on uses more power. Frequent web browsing also uses up a lot of battery power. Charging the battery The battery is partially charged when shipped. Before you turn on and start using HTC Jetstream, it is recommended that you charge the battery. Some batteries perform best after several full charge/discharge cycles. Only the power adapter provided in the box must be used to charge the battery. 1. Plug the power adapter into the USB connector of HTC Jetstream. 2. Plug in the power adapter to an electrical outlet to start charging the battery. As the battery is being charged, the notification LED shows a solid orange light. The light turns to solid green when HTC Jetstream is fully charged. When you charge the battery while HTC Jetstream is on, the charging battery icon is displayed in your tablet’s status bar.

    Signing Devices The SIGNificant products support a wide range of signing devices – simple signing tablets, multi function devices for signing, magnetic stripe reader, smartcard readers etc. The list of supported devices grows together with the availability of new devices on the market and customers requesting the integration of a certain devices. If you don’t find your preferred device in the list or you need support for another OS, just send a request to your technical account manager. Notes: Dynamic Signature Support Nearly all supported devices provide the necessary data for a full dynamic signature. This means that the data can be used for verifying the signature against a signature profile on the SIGNificant Biometric Server. Dynamic Signature with Pressure Level Support Many devices provide pressure level data (e.g. 1- 512) which act as an additional security feature. The SIGNificant Biometric Server does not necessarily require pressure levels but uses them as additional criteria when verifying signatures. Consequently all current smartphones with a capacitive touch screen technology which doesn't provide pressure levels) work fine (i.e. iPad).
