Maine US 2 Relocation of US 2 between Old Town and US 2 Alt. Orono over new construction, ty way of Great Works; and the old location, by '‘'V.4 way of Stillwater, to be designated as US ^ .^.tornate.

South Carolina- US 17 Alt. A new alternate route beginning on US 17 Georgia approximately 6 miles south of Hardee- viile; thence southerly over the recently constructed toll bridge into Savannah to a junction with US 17 at Ogeechee Road.

Pennsylvania US 22 Relocation of US 22 between Easton aind US 22 Alt. Allentown over recently completed new four-lane construction. The new route is somewhat to the north of the present route and will by-pass Bethlehem.

US 22 Alternate crossing the river from New Jersey is rerouted to the north in Easton to a junction with the new lo- cation above described, and the remaining portion of US 22 between Easton and Bethlehem is to be abandoned.

Maryland US 29 Relocation of US 29 on the Baltimore- US 29 Alt. Wasnington Highway, more particularly that portion between Columbia and White Oak. The new location is essentially direct, going through Scaggsville and Burtonsville to a junction with the present route at White Oak. The old route from Columbia through Ashton to White Oak is to be designated US 29 Alternate, the change to be effective upon completion of the construction work, which is Indicated as being in *’\ ;c“ t?;.-;'i>jt’''^''*"'jV^*^-'^'^V-'Vi^. the latter part of 1955. , .i'j'r.v t'v' -v-^. • -•.•"’^. ‘.IT;-- IlUnois- US 50 The establishment of a new US 50 By-Pass By-Pass route around East St. Louis and St. Louis. This route will begin at the junction of US 50 and Route 159 and proceed southerly to a point near Swansea; thence northwesterly a short distance on ; thence turning due west with a crossing of US U60 on Missouri Avenue and continuing to an intersection with ; thence on 157 to the intersection with Illinois Route 163 and continuing on this route to Millstadt; thence via to Columbia and up to an intersection with Illinois Route 157; thence via Illinois Route 157 over the Jeffersor*- Barracks Bridge on to Missouri Route 77 to Mehlville; and thence via US I6l rxjrthwesterly to an intersection with US Route 50 and 66. 82 C

Oklahoma US 66 Relocation of US 66 and US 77 from a point US 77 east of Edmorh, where 66 and 77 now Join; US 66 Busi- thence due south past the Witcher Toll Gate; ness Rt. thence southwesterly past the point of the present intersection of US 66 a.nd US 77 with the new construction toward the Oklahoma Turnpike to a point where US 77 presently turns south, US 66 to continue westerly from this point to the present intersection with US 66 and US 270. The old location of US 66 lying to the northwest of this point will be abandoned. (US 66 is, in effect, the . hypothenuse of a triangle, the other two legs formed by previous routing of US 66.)

A new US 66 Business Route, beginr-ing at the point above described, where US 77 left US 66 in Oklahoma City; thence due south via US 77 to an intersection with US 270; thence due west via US 270 for a distance of approxi- mately U miles; and thence north to an inter- section with US •«6 as relocated in accordance with the above description. This last point of intersection is where US 66, as above re- located, Joins US 270. Florida- US 98 The extension of present route US 96, from Alabama- its present western terminus at Pensacola, Mississippi " westerly by way of Florida Route 293, to the Alabama State line; thence by way of Alabama Route 39 through Foley, and Alabama Route loll and US 90-into Mobile; thence via Alabama Route li2 through WiLmer to the Mississippi line; thence via Mississippi Route 15 through Lucedale to McLain; thence via Mississippi Route 15 and 2ti to a Junction with US li9 south of Hattiesburg, with a 6- mile overlap on US U9; thence continuing on Mississippi Route 21i through Columbia and •. .4' >; - l\-r!^Ck T''*'^ Tylertown to McComb, there doubling US 51 jr
