2. Role Purpose

General

i. To exercise the cure of souls shared with the bishop in this in collaboration with your colleagues ii. To have regard to the calling and responsibilities of the clergy as described in the Canons, the Ordinal, the Code of Professional Conduct for the Clergy and other relevant legislation. iii. To work to advance the Kingdom of God through servant leadership, collaboration and example, and with particular regard to the current diocesan mission priorities a) for growing churches b) for increasing giving c) for serving the wider community d) for nurturing vocations iv. To share in the wider work of the deanery and diocese as appropriate, for the building up of the whole Body of Christ

Specific

• To provide vision and leadership for the Team and help to develop the identity and cohesion of the Team

• Maintain and develop links with schools and engage with the young families and children living in the area and to seek to draw them into the full life of the church

• Identify and encourage vocations to public and accredited ministries

• To promote the ‘whole life discipleship’ of all members

• Take a lead in Implementing our Mission Action Plans

4. Role context and any other relevant information

The Team was formed in 1999 with three stipendiary clergy posts. At the last Team Rector vacancy this was reduced to 2 stipendiary clergy (Team Rector and Team Vicar) along with the Church Army Officer, an OLM, 3 Readers, 1 Reader in training and 6 ALMs. As part of the Diocesan ‘Fit For Mission’ Strategy the Team is exploring ways in which we can work more closely with neighbouring and how to configure ‘mission units’ across the Eccles deanery.
