South Africa Wild Treasures of the Rainbow Nation June 14 to 24, 2018 Starting at $5,795 per traveler

Some of you probably know that I regularly take groups on wildlife oriented trips all over the world. After three safaris to Africa in the last 18 months, mostly with Asheboro residents, I was asked by a number of people who had heard about these if I ever did a shorter African trip for those who could not spend two or more weeks away. So I've put together an intensive 8 day journey (10 days with travel) covering some of the best scenery, history and wildlife of South Africa. The trip is deliberately timed to leave on a Thursday afternoon and get back the following Sunday week, so only effectively taking up 6 working days. It will run from the 14th to the 24th June next year (2018). We fly from the East Coast to Cape Town overnight, stay 3 nights at a beautiful 4 star hotel in the Cape Town suburbs and spend two full days exploring the seascapes and scenery around the South region. That will include ,the Cape of Good Hope, the Winelands around Stellenbosch and some of the unique animals and plants of the region.

Then, we fly North to safari country, the land of the 'Big Five'. Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, and Leopard, and a lot more besides. Five nights in two luxury lodges on private concessions close to the famed . This is some of the best wildlife viewing in the world with one of the greatest variety of and birds on the Continent. We will be accompanied by knowledgeable guides and travel in rugged four wheel drive vehicles with plenty of space to move about, see animals clearly and take photos.

The two small, very comfortable lodges consist of separate beautifully furnished cabins with en suite facilities together with lounge and dining spaces all sited where we can see animals passing through from the verandahs.Food will be varied with lots of choice and prepared to a high standard.

Idube Safari Lodge Lukimbi Safari Lodge

This trip will be ideal for anyone who has limited time, has dreamed of going on safari but hasn't been to Africa yet and for anyone interested in traveling to South Africa in particular. We can take an optional post-extension trip to the largest waterfall on earth – Victoria Falls, known to the locals as Mosi-oa-Tunya – “The Smoke That Thunders”.
