The single most important thread running through all the pages of the year was the way in which we have broken the stony walls of social isolation and embraced our fellow citizens – doubly marginalised by homelessness and mental illness. For too long, have we looked away from this bundle of rags and dirt. For too long have we been afraid of her unpredictable behaviour.
