Minnesota Wild to Participate in 2018 Nhl Prospect Tournament in Traverse City, Michigan, September 7-11 For Immediate Release Contacts: Aaron Sickman (651) 602-6009 Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018 Megan Kogut (651) 312-3439 MINNESOTA WILD TO PARTICIPATE IN 2018 NHL PROSPECT TOURNAMENT IN TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN, SEPTEMBER 7-11 SAINT PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Wild General Manager Paul Fenton today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club will participate in the 2018 NHL Prospect Tournament in Traverse City, Mich., Sept. 7-11. Wild prospects will compete in the tournament’s Ted Lindsay Division with the Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings and New York Rangers. The Carolina Hurricanes, Chicago Blackhawks, Columbus Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues will play in the Gordie Howe Division. Minnesota’s roster features 12 Wild draft picks: D Louie Belpedio (2014, 3rd round), F Shawn Boudrias (2018, 6th round), D Gustav Bouramman (2015, 7th round), F Connor Dewar (2018, 3rd round), F Damien Giroux (2018, 5th round), D Jacob Golden (2017, 5th round), F Jordan Greenway (2015, 2nd round), G Kaapo Kahkonen (2014, 4th round), F Alexander Khovanov (2018, 3rd round), RW Ivan Lodnia (2017, 3rd round), C Mason Shaw (2017, 4th round) and RW Dmitry Sokolov (2016, 7th round), along with 2017 free-agent signees G Dereck Baribeau and D Brennan Menell. Iowa Wild Head Coach Tim Army, Associate Coach David Cunniff and Assistant Coach Brett McLean will lead the Wild prospects. STREAMING: All Minnesota Wild games at the 2018 NHL Prospect Tournament will stream live on FOX Sports GO and wild.com. All streams will also be available on NHL.com without geographic restrictions. Fans can download the mobile app for free from the iTunes App Store, Google Play, Amazon App Store and Windows Store. The former NHL netminder joined the Wild after serving as the Goaltending Coach for the Edmonton Oilers (2009-14). Prior to working for the Oilers, he served as a Goaltending Consultant with Hockey Canada and its National Junior Team, helping Canada win a gold medal at the 2009 World Junior Championship. Chabot was also an instructor at Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence Goaltending Camp for three years (2007-09). The native of Hebertville-Station, Que., worked as a Goaltending Consultant with Berlin (DEL) in 2008-09, capturing the league championship with the Ice Bears. Chabot also worked with AIK Stockholm (SWE-2) from 2007-09, overseeing goaltending for the entire organization. Chabot played 17 seasons of professional hockey (1989-2006) and appeared in a total of 32 NHL contests with the Montreal Canadiens, Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers.

    2019-20 Year In Review 2019-20 Season in Review Season in Review: NEW ERA On November 27, 2019 David Cunniff was named the second ever General Manager/Head Coach in franchise history. It was a homecoming for Cunniff who had spent eight seasons from 2006-14 with the Worcester Sharks as an assistant and associate coach. Cunniff coached his first game as a member of the Worcester Railers on November 27, 2019 in a 4-1 loss vs. the Newfoundland Growlers at the DCU Center and picked up his first win on November 29, 2019 in a 6-4 win over the Newfoundland Growlers at the DCU Center. LET THE HATS FLY It took 161 games in franchise history to see the first ever regulation hat trick as Dante Salituro broke the drought on November 27, 2019 with a goal in each period in a 6-4 win over the Newfoundland Growlers. Then ten games later Shane Walsh recorded his first professional hat trick with a goal in all three periods on December 21, 2019 in a 7-3 win over the Brampton Beast, which was the most goals scored in a single game by Worcester during the 2019-20 season. HEY SHORTY The Railers finished the 2019-20 season 4th in the ECHL with 12 short-handed goals. The 12 short-handed goals were just one shy of the single season franchise record of 13 during the 2017-18 season. Nic Pierog led the club with five short- handed goals ranking him tied for first in the ECHL.
