Historic Homes We’ve Worked In 1079 Alco Street, N.E. By Brad Cruickshank , 30324 We love to measure our work against the craftsmen of years past. So working in older homes, especially those with some history to them, is a special treat. We often encounter such treasures as high ceilings, speaking tubes, knob & tube wiring, plaster & lath, front and rear stairs, heart pine flooring, radiators, balloon framing and more. We are especially thankful to have had the opportunity to work in these fine old Atlanta homes:

1857 Cobb Caldwell House: 4600 Peachtree Road (the only house we’ve worked on with a cannon in the front yard).

1893 Robert Winship House: 814 , . 13’ tall ceilings. The original kitchen was in a detached structure.

1899 Haley Branch House: 1426 McLendon Avenue, NE. Former home of an Atlanta newspaper editor, 12' ceilings. .

1905 Home: 167 Elizabeth Street, Inman Park (Brad Cruickshank’s former home). Designed by Atlanta architect, Walter Downing. Speaking tubes and a radiator with built-in food warmer. Portiere rods and rings still in case openings. 1907: 37 Lafayette Drive, . These owners love and understand old houses. 1911: 3355 Ridgewood Drive, NW, . Originally a summer house in the country (Buckhead). Founded in 1980 1919: 1180 Paces Forest Drive, Buckhead. Former Atlanta Symphony Show House.
