Edge (wrestler) - Wikipedia Adam Joseph Copeland born October 30, [8] Against the Edge a Canadian professional wrestler and actor. He is currently signed to WWEwhere he performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Edgeand is currently inactive due to injury. He also won the King of the Ring tournament inwas the first Money in the Bank ladder match winner inthe first to cash in the Money In The Bank briefcase twice, and won the Royal Rumble match inmaking him the first wrestler Against the Edge history to achieve all four of those accomplishments. His wife Beth Phoenix joined the Hall of Fame inmaking them the first real-life couple to be inducted. Throughout the s, he wrestled in various United States independent promotions. During his time in these promotions, he competed in singles and tag team competition, the latter with longtime best friend Jason Reso. He made his televised debut the following June under the ring name Edge. In July Against the Edge, he won the WWF Intercontinental Championship at a house show in Torontomarking his first title reign with the company. During this Against the Edge, they gained notoriety in the tag team division, partly due to their participation in Tables, Ladders, and Chairs matches. He retired in April due to several neck injuries, but returned to competition in the Royal Rumble match Against the Edge a nine-year retirement. He appeared on the Syfy series Haven as recurring character Dwight Hendrickson, and as recurring character, Ketill Flatnosein the fifth season of Vikings. Adam Joseph Copeland [14] was born on October 30,in the rural town of Orangeville, Ontario 50 miles northwest of Toronto[8] [2] the son of Judy Lynn Copeland January 2, — November 27,[15] [16] a single parent who worked two jobs to support her son. During Copeland's training, he trained one weekday and all weekend. The school's practice ring was a byfoot boxing ring with a harder mat than that of a typical wrestling ring. The ceiling above was low, with exposed pipes, preventing top-rope moves from being performed. Copeland later credited this environment with forcing him to drill and improve his technical mat-based wrestling. His classmates included Johnny SwingerJoe E. Legendand Rob Etcheverria. He spent his tour earnings on a plane ticket and landed with no money or place to stay. He called Johnny SmithAgainst the Edge he met twice, and Smith agreed to give him food and shelter. Copeland returned to the Maritimes for another Grand Prix tour before going back to Hart's house, bringing Christian with him. After this camp, Hart was impressed enough to put in a good word for both men at the WWF. Copeland received a developmental contract with the WWF in Upon completing his Against the Edge, Copeland made his WWF television debut on the June 22, episode of Raw as Edge, a loner character who entered the arena through the crowd for his matches. Edge's first televised match was against Jose Estrada, Jr. Edge was then placed in a feud against the vampire wrestler Gangrel. During the feud, Gangrel introduced Christian, Edge's storyline brother, as his ally. Squad in a six-man tag team match. Later in Against the Edge year, he was placed in a storyline angle with The Hardy Boyz. Against the Edge after, they lost the tag titles to Too Cool but won them back in a Four corners elimination match at King of the Ring. At Fully Loadedthey defended the titles Against the Edge The Acolytes Protection Agency where they got disqualified but retained the titles. After retaining the titles at SummerSlamat UnforgivenEdge and Christian defended the titles against The Hardy Boyz in a Steel Cage match where they lost the titles and were not allowed another title shot. They won them back three days later on SmackDown! Edge went on to solidify himself as an emerging singles competitor by winning the King of the Ring tournament and becoming a face by Against the Edge with the WWF during the Invasion storyline. Edge first defeated Regal at Vengeance to retain the championship: however, he would come up short in the new year, losing the title to Regal at the Royal Rumble and then coming up short in his rematch against Regal at No Way Out in a Brass Knuckles on a Pole match. Perfectand at WrestleMania X8Edge found himself in a match with Against the Edge T that was the result of Against the Edge beating out Booker for a fictitious Japanese shampoo endorsement. Upon arriving there, he began a feud with Kurt Angle. At BacklashAngle defeated Edge which later culminated in Edge shaving Angle's head following Against the Edge hair vs. In the process, Edge injured his arm and would be forced out of action for a month. They met one final time days Against the Edge on SmackDown! He then formed a tag team with Rey Mysterioand the two participated in a tournament for the newly created and SmackDown! On the November 7 episode of SmackDown! After losing the title, Edge and Mysterio went their separate ways to focus on their singles careers. At the Royal RumbleEdge competed in the man Royal Rumble match on January 19,where he had three eliminations before getting eliminated by Chris Jericho. Edge then teamed up with Chris Benoit, facing Team Angle in a series of singles and tag team matches. Prior to No Way OutEdge suffered a legitimate neck injury, rendering him unable to compete in his scheduled match. The injury stemmed from a bump he took on a closed ladder on the September 26, edition of SmackDown! His arms would then numb more and more in the following months before deciding to have the surgery, as he was gradually in more pain and did not want to Against the Edge dropping an opponent dangerously because of his numb arms. He then underwent surgery with Dr. Lloyd Youngblood and was sidelined for over a year. Edge was placed on the Raw brand in the WWE draft lottery on March 22,where he speared Eric Bischoff and Against the Edge to in-ring action shortly after the event. As a result of this gimmick change, Edge also went back to using his original entrance theme. The team disbanded when Edge won the Intercontinental Championship at Vengeance defeating Randy Ortonthus becoming a five time Intercontinental Champion. Upon his return, Edge began to pursue the World Heavyweight Championship. They regained the titles. During the match, an angry Edge abandoned his partner and instead interfered in the World Against the Edge Championship match, costing Michaels the championship. After the conclusion of the match, Edge attacked Benoit, turning heel in the process. Edge would also gain a new entrance theme, Metalingus, performed by then-newly-established band, Alter Bridge. During the match, Edge eliminated both Benoit and Jericho Against the Edge getting eliminated by Orton. On the November 29 episode of Rawboth Edge and Benoit competed in a number one contender's battle royalbut they eliminated each other simultaneously at the conclusion of the match, resulting in a draw. In the match, Benoit locked the Crippler Crossface on Edge, who shifted his weight putting Benoit's shoulders on the mat for a pin. This match also ended in a draw for Benoit and Edge, as Benoit made Edge submit at the same time the referee counted a pinfall for Edge. Special guest referee Shawn Michaels performed a superkick on Edge, Against the Edge retaliation for an accidental spear by Edge, causing Edge to be the first eliminated. Edge also competed in the Royal Rumble match later that night, where he lasted until the final three but was eliminated by Batista and John Cena. At WrestleMania 21Edge won the first ever Money in the Bank ladder matchgaining a contract that gave him a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship within one year. However, he was talked into competing by the other participants like Jericho and Glenn Jacobs who said the match had the potential to be a big Against the Edge. Hardy referred to Edge by his real name and issued a threat to Lita as well. He then wedged Hardy's head between the steel steps and the ringpost, and then kicked the steel steps into Hardy's head.

Behind the billboard, in the distance - AN ATOMIC FIRE RAVAGES THE LANDSCAPE. SLOW FOOTSTEPS break the silence. A WOUNDED-MAN drags himself down the road. Blackened and burned: The clothes are literally falling from his back. He’s sick and desperate - A victim of radiation poisoning. The Wounded-Man reaches the shadow of the billboard before stumbling - And collapsing to his knees. He looks towards the sky. Coughs. WOUNDED-MAN Please. Somebody... Anybody? Research Article The effect of increased Glut4 protein expression in muscle and fat on the whole body glucose metabolism has been evaluated by the euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp technique in conscious mice. Fed and fasting plasma glucose concentrations were 172 +/- 7 and 78 +/- 7 mg/dl, respectively, in transgenic mice, and were significantly lower than that of nontransgenic littermates (208 +/- 5 mg/dl in fed; 102 +/- 5 mg/dl in fasting state). Plasma lactate concentrations were higher in transgenic mice, (6.5 +/- 0.7 mM in the fed and 5.8 +/- 1.0 mM in fasting state) compared with that of non- transgenic littermates (4.7 +/- 0.3 mM in the fed and 4.2 +/- 0.5 mM in fasting state). In the fed state, the rate of whole body glucose disposal was 70% higher in transgenic mice in the basal state, 81 and 54% higher during submaximal and maximal insulin stimulation. In the fasting state, insulin-stimulated whole body glucose disposal was also higher in the transgenic mice. Hepatic glucose production after an overnight fast was 24.8 +/- 0.7 mg/kg per min in transgenic mice, and 25.4 +/- 2.7 mg/kg per min in nontransgenic mice. Our data demonstrate that overexpression of Glut4 protein in muscle increases basal as well as insulin-stimulated whole body glucose disposal.

    wXw holds keynote on wXw NOW streaming service, announces details on Germany's first wrestling network wXw just announced the first in-depth details on our new "wXw NOW" streaming network, which will launch one month from now on 8/13 at www.wxwnow.de. It will not just be a collection of shows like a lot of companies offer for a monthly fee via Pivotshare but also offer original content and a lot of archived shows, some dating back as far as 2006. We will also have our uniquely designed interface/UI, while hosting and infrastructure will be managed by Vimeo, our long-time streaming partner, dating back to 2013. Wrestling journalist Markus Gronemann (DarkMat.eu, Wrestling Observer) considers this to be the biggest launch of an over-the-top pro wrestling channel by a single promotion since New Japan World. wXw Managing Director Christian Jakobi held a keynote presentation tonight at 8 pm CEST at the wXw Wrestling Academy training school, which was streamed live on Facebook (the video is available, albeit only in German, here) and talked about what future and past events and what kind of original content would be available. We had up to 750 viewers simultaneously on Facebook and also had some students and a trainer (Toby Blunt) in attendance to provide some crowd noise and cheering at key points during the announcement. Marquee Events are wXw's version of pay-per-view caliber shows, where feuds start and end and international talent often appears. There currently are 10 marquee events on the calendar, with some of them being multi-day shows:
