▪ The project site is located along Silver County road which connects to Hosa road on one side and Harlur road on another side. ▪ Silver County Road is having 30m RoW in front of the project site and due to less traffic two lanes are asphalted and road can be widened to (3+3) lanes in future. ▪ CW measures of 7m, 23m wide unused shoulders on either side of the road ▪ Hosa road is a 2 lane Un-divided road which connects to Road on one side and Sarjapur on another side. ▪ The Hosa road is of RoW 12 m, which includes CW of 7 m, (0.5+0.5) m open drainage and (2+2) m shoulder on either side of the road. ▪ As per BDA – CDP map, Hosa road is getting widened to 18m from 12m, facilitates (2+2) lanes for smooth traffic flow. ▪ The project can also be accessed from other places of Bangalore city such as Junnasandra, Harlur, etc., ▪ Hence pressure will not develop to any one particular road and traffic gets distributed to various roads as stated above. ➢ Speed is directly proportional to Traffic Volume. Higher the speed, more traffic volume can move upto saturation.

➢The observed speed indicates that the vehicles are well within the speed limits and hence the road safety is ensured particularly in the case of highways. Real time traffic scenario along Silver County Road (2 lane Undivided) Time 2Wh 3Wh 4Wh B/L Total V/C

▪ It is proposed that the construction materials will visit the site, 7 in numbers on an average per day. ▪ V/C during construction = 0.25 & 0.51. The present level of service will remain “A & C” along Silver County road and Hosa Road ▪ The lorries carrying construction materials are proposed to come to the site during off peak hours. ▪ Number of trucks planned to the site (off peak hours) Day time –7 no’s. Night time –Nil. ▪ V/C indicates that there is no significant change & hence performance also. ▪ Vehicles carrying construction materials will be well covered to prevent any spillage. ▪ Vehicles hired for construction material will be in good condition and conforms to noise and air emission standards. ▪ Vehicles will operate only during non peak hours. ➢Since the activity is Residential , the ingress & egress of vehicles will move from & to the project between 8:00am to 11:00 am as egress & 6:00pm to 9:00 pm as ingress.

➢Total traffic generated from this project = 1284 PCU’s.

➢Therefore, the hourly volume in PCU’s will be 1284/3 = 428 PCU’s/hr.

➢ The vehicles generated from the project site will first exit to the Silver County Road.

i.e. 100%X428 = 428 PCU’s/hr will first exit to the Silver County Road. Cont…. ➢Based on the activity and connectivity, 35% of traffic will move along Silver County Road towards Harlur Road and another 65% towards Hosa Road. i.e. 35% x 428= 150 PCU’s/hr will moves along Silver County Road towards Harlur Road. 65% x 428= 278 PCU’s/hr will moves along Silver County Road towards Hosa Road. ➢Out of 65% (278 PCU’s/hr) of generated traffic, 30% of traffic will moves along Hosa Road towards Sarjapur Road and another 35% will moves towards NH-7 / Hosur Road. i.e. 30% x 278= 83 PCU’s/hr will moves along Hosa Road towards Sarjapur Road. 35% x 278= 97 PCU’s/hr will moves along Hosa Road towards NH-7 / Hosur Road. ➢ Pedestrians are considered as most Vulnerable Road Users (VRU) as the accidents are increasing on pedestrians. Hence pedestrians safety must be considered as top priority in traffic engineering.

➢ As per IRC, a minimum of 1.8 m wide neatly paved, well illuminated and leveled footpath must be made available for pedestrians.

➢ Presently in Silver County Road and Hosa Road there is no footpath for pedestrian flow, provide a minimum of 2 m footpath.

➢ The capacity of the footpath the 2 m width will be 2520 (C grade) pedestrians/ hr. Recommended Pedestrian Side walk capacity and level of service (IRC 103-2012)

Still it is uncertain that Silver County Road may not get direct connectivity to Hitech corridor, being an express way. ➢ To establish smooth entry & exit of vehicles, bell mouth shape geometry is provided at the gates. This ensures smooth transition for merging of vehicles. ➢ Amber blinker lights will be used at the gate to caution vehicles which are moving out. Sign boards will also to be installed to this effect. ➢ Adequate sign & guide posts for traffic as per IRC (Indian Roads Congress) or ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers USA) to be installed along NH-7 / Hosur Road towards Airport.
