CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME

Well what a strange month with the weather. Luckily it was lovely for Durdle Door & the cuckoo fair rallies. We had 82 units at Wick Farm and glorious sunshine. We also made £113 for the Pramacare charity. At there were only 6 units but the weather was awful. Thank you to the stewards for May Alan & Marian Bown, Ian Fraser, Colin & myself. Also a thank you in advance to Dean & Ruth Mueller Davies & Janet & Brian Setchell for stewarding the THS end of May.

We now have stewards for Carringtons & Salisbury Rugby Club but, we still need a steward for West Hall Farm, Sherborne & Longthorns. NO STEWARDS = NO RALLIES

We also need to find a replacement treasurer for the DA. NO TREASURER = NO DA

Please give this some thought. As many of you know all our caravanning life we have taken our cats. We started off with Twinkle in our trailer tent. Then when we progressed to a caravan and we had other cats they also took to the camping life. Sammy, Rosie, Katie, Poppy & Ben. This has now come to an end as Ben died and went to be with Poppy and the others at Rainbow bridge on 22nd May. We will miss him as we do the others and there will be a void in the caravan. My last caravanning memory of him will be at the cuckoo fair rally where he did his meet and greet as we stewarded and we then sat under the shade of a lovely tree enjoying the shade out of the hot sun. Heather Brown DA Chairman.

It was nice to have some support from New Forest members this year at Lytchett Minster for Spring Bank Holiday. It was lovely to see you and hope you had an enjoyable stay. It was lovely weather between the thunder, lightening and rain however due to the heat it soon dried up and then we had the lovely sun. Saturday night’s quiz made it possible for a get together – something we do not usually do at a THS. Quiz winners were 4 Angels for Charlie. We also had a small raffle so will be able to pay some money into the Chairman’s Charity. It was also nice to welcome Ian Fraser to the evening function following his operation to replace his second knee. I am sure he will soon be back caravanning at the speed he is recovering.
