Northern Iowa Baseball Upper NW UN I-Dome Cedar Falls, Iowa 50614 (319) 273-6323 MORE THAN A GAME It's important to me. To some it's only a game that will be forgotten when they leave the park. To those of us who have sacrificed countless hours of precious time that we have been granted on this earth it becomes more important. We don't expect anyone to swing the bat or handle the glove for us. We ask that we be made aware of the ability that has been bestowed upon us. We must not let this gift pass, unnoticed. We ask that, when the time comes we no longer have fun displaying the skills with which so few of us have been blessed, we will have the courage and courtesy to put our spilces and gloves away. We give thanks for the speed, strength, and agility to perform for those that are appreciative of this rare ability that is a part of us. -

2001 Baseball Game-By-Game Recaps
2001 Baseball Game-by-Game Recaps May 19, vs. East Texas Baptist University MVNC, the second seed, dropped a hard-fought 4-2 decision to fifth-seeded East Texas Baptist in the semifinals of the National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament. The Tigers claimed the win with a two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Cougars did not record a hit in the game as they were no-hit for the first time since March 26, 1999. Adam Rowe (8-4) suffered the loss as he allowed eight hits, two walks, and four runs in 6 2/3 innings of work with five strikeouts. For their efforts, Rowe and Mark Coulter were named to the NCCAA All-National Tournament Team. May 19, vs. Greenville (IL) College The rain finally subsided as the second-seeded Cougars played their first game of the National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament and eliminated ninth-seeded Greenville 3-1. Mark Coulter (9-3) worked six-plus innings to pick up the victory as he allowed just four hits, two walks, and one run with five strikeouts. Jon Barchus recorded the final three outs for his fifth save as Nate Overholt made a diving catch in leftfield with two outs and two runners on to end the game. Offensively, Jeff Wine led off the game with a solo home run, and Mike Waddell tied the single-season school record with his 21st double. The win was also the 400th in Coach Keith Veale's 12-year career - all at MVNC. -
