The Editor replies... [Reprinted from e-mail to Mr. Littmann] Hope this helps. Sincerely, Robert: Mustafa Emir Thanks for your concern, and certainly thanks for caring Editor, Bimmer Immer enough to write to the Editor. Most people just write to advertise and such... The reason you have not received your Immer for January is that there was not one. We are currently working on the February issue and hope that it will come out soon. By that, I mean the next 7 to 10 days. I am hoping that real life will not interfere too badly with this prediction: for example, if my asso- ciate editor gets a rush assignment at work or my son gets an ear infection, it’ll be too bad for the Immer for another week. Your second question is a little more tricky to answer; though we do indicate a month and year on the cover of the Immer, this is only a ruse to mislead you, the reader, into thinking that you are holding a professionally edited and produced document. Of course nothing could be farther from the truth. Our seasoned readers know that the Immer is always unpredictable yet seldom fails to inform its readers of the fun things they can be doing with their cars instead of, say, reading it... (By the way, I just made a clever pun, but you have to speak German to get it!) Anyway, no, the Immer is not a monthly publication and, no, it is not published when the Editor (i.e., me) decides to pub- lish it. The reality is quite a bit more complicated: we try to get an Immer out every four to six weeks, and we do so as soon as our lives allow a few uninterrupted hours to work on articles, layout, pictures, etc. Appears as though we’ve done a good enough job to get you hooked on this rag and now we’re dealing with your with- drawal symptoms.... Well, we’ll continue to do our best to keep ‘em coming your way, whenever we can. But seriously, the newsletter is published about 10 times a year, more frequently in the summer than the winter. By the way, CCA recommends (dare I say “requires”) that some form of communication (I think they mean the written kind) occur every 2 months. By and large we meet that — we ain’t Boston, but we try. www.badgerbimmers.org Page 7 Holiday Party 2005
