Rev. 1.0 12/2016 It is well known that the hydraulic pump in the E85 model BMW Z4 is prone to dying due to severe corrosion. This occurs because the pump is housed in an unsealed housing (AKA main support funnel) located in the drainage well behind the driver’s seat. Figure 1 is a picture of the main support funnel. Rev. 1.0 12/2016 The hole at the bottom of the funnel is usually obstructed with debris that causes rainwater to fill the funnel and leak into the hydro pump housing, which slowly corrodes the pump. Given the eventuality that corrosion will destroy the pump, and the (steadily increasing) replacement price for a new hydro pump, it is commonsensical to transfer the pump from the drainage well to the trunk.

This year’s victory returns the championship trophy to a YOKOHAMA tireequipped car after a one year hiatus following four straight victorious seasons from 2009. The champion vehicle is the GOODSMILE Hatsune Miku Z4 entered by GOODSMILE RACING (GSR) & Team UKYO and driven by Nobuteru Taniguchi and Tatsuya Kataoka. The Hatsune Miku Z4’s road to the championship started with victories in the series’ first two races. The car and drivers had to overcome some challenges during the middle rounds of the series, including the Z4’s weight handicap and getting caught up in a crash, but the team rallied in the latter rounds of the series, including a third place finish in Round 7, the series’ first ever race in Thailand. As a result, the team headed into this series finale in first place with a nine-point lead over the second place team. Able to clinch the championship with a finish in the top three, GSR & Team UKYO started the final race in third position after the qualifying rounds. The final race’s battle for the series championship was an intense back and forth battle, but drivers Taniguchi and Kataoka ran a flawless race, holding on to the third position and securing the series championship.

HOW BMW PROGRESSED FROM THIS TO 1913 The man who started all was Karl Friedrich Rapp in October 1913. Not everybody knows that BMW started as a manufacturer of aircraft with Austro-Daimler, who was unable to meet its demands that of building V12 Aero engines under license. The company expanded too quickly, and by 1916 Karl Friedrich Rapp resigned from the company because of financial troubles. The company was taken over by two Austrians Franz- Josef Popp and Max Fritz backed by a Vienna engines. Rapp establishes "Rapp-Motorenwerke" in a former bicycle factory near Munich. He starts manufacturing his own aircraft engines but unfortunately they suffered form problems with vibrations. Close to Rapp´s factory, Gustav Otto, the son of the inventor of the four-stroke internal combustion engine, sets up a business building small aircrafts.
