Jamia Hamdard

The history of Jamia Hamdard began with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz

Abdul Majeed, a practitioner with the vision of making the practice of Unani medicine a scientific discipline. In 1972, Hamdard College of Pharmacy was setup with the objective of providing education and training in all branches of Pharmacy, which was given the Deemed University status in the year 1989. Currently, Jamia Hamdard is engaged in

imparting high-quality teaching and research in the disciplines of Pharmacy, Science, Medicine, Nursing, Management, Information Technology, Allied Health Sciences, Islamic studies etc. In recognition of its excellent and academic achievements, Jamia Hamdard has been accredited with 'A' Grade by National Accreditation and rd Assessment Council (NAAC). It has recently been ranked 23 amongst the top 100 universities in by NIRF, Govt. of India.

Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, School of Pharmaceutical Education & Research The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is one of the core Department, engaged in research related to drug development and discovery. The Department was formally established in 1986 with the M. Pharm. (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) and Ph.D. programme. The University started two-year M Pharm (Pharm Analysis) course in the academic year 2006. The courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). The Department is well equipped with modern wet laboratories along with analytical instruments like NMR (Bruker Avance-400MHz), IR (Bruker alpha-T spectrophotometer), Mass (Waters SYNAPT UPLC-MS/MS) etc. The Department has received research grants to the tune of more than Rs. 2.5 crores from various funding agencies like UGC/ ICMR/ AYUSH/ AICTE/ DST/ DBT. The students are well placed in various industries (Ranbaxy Research Laboratories -Diachi, Sun-Pharma, Nicolas Piramal, Jubiliant Organosys, Dabur etc) and Academic and Research nd Institutions through Placement cell. It has recently been ranked 2 amongst the various Pharmacy Institutions in India by NIRF -2018, Govt. of India.

New Horizons in Drug Discovery & Development-3 18TH February, 2019

About the Conference NMR spectroscopy plays a pivotal role in the drug discovery and development process, principally through its use in the structure elucidation of leads, drugs, their synthetic intermediates, and the degradation products and impurities of those drug molecules. More recently, new applications of NMR spectroscopy have emerged such as hit‐finding and hit‐to‐lead optimization, impacting directly on these early stages of the drug discovery process. In order to provide proper direction and to channelize future pharma research in the field of NMR and keeping the recent developments in mind, the seminar provides the right platform. The seminar will serve as a platform for interaction between young scholars and scientists from academia and industry with experienced scientists from various institutions. The outcomes of the seminar will direct the future foci to move ahead in diverse research areas for the benefit of mankind. The recent trends highlighting innovative and interesting topics will be discussed under the main theme of conference.
