Graças as conversas e as dicas tive a ideia do novo projeto. ABSTRACT This paper aims to deal with attempts to regulation of heavy metal music. In 1985 there was a hearing on the North American Senate at the request of an association called PMRC (Parental Music Resource Center). The hearing was intended to deal with the regulation of the music industry. Mobilizing moralizing discourses about heavy metal music the association proposed regulatory measures the music industry. The charges in the style passed by speeches about the supposed "dangers" of what they called pornographic rock, making it clear that the sexual content was a big concern to the association. To show the effects of the PMRC action the North American band Cannibal Corpse was chosen to realize that she suffered the consequences of the association's demands. The hypothesis is that the band suffered from the regulation because of content regarded as "wicked," "grotesque" and "dangerous" of their music. It is intended to show what guided the performance of the PMRC in their actions against the heavy metal, but also the answers of the band Cannibal Corpse ace attempts to regulation. For that will focus the audience in the Senate to see this time the apex of the association's activities, as well as a privileged moment to understand which categories are used in the speeches of members of the PMRC to support their charges to heavy metal. It will also be presented a cultural historical view from theoretical to different areas of the humanities such as sociology, anthropology, philosophy and history, for example. Narratives, contained in a documentary about the band, in a biographical book and interviews contained in sites on the Internet about the band to present the point of view of the same will also be used to better understand the point of view of the band on the contents of his work and on the impact of attempts at regulation in its artistic trajectory. What we see is that, from 1984, was generated a "moral panic" about the works of some bands.

CANNIBAL CORPSE 05. Juli 2019 | Stuttgart-Wangen, LKA/Longhorn Gäste: Traitor Der Name CANNIBAL CORPSE weckt viele Assoziationen, aber nur ein Wort trifft zu ihrer Beschreibung den Nagel auf den Kopf: unaufhaltsam. Die Death-Metal-Veteranen veröffentlichen 2017 ihr monströses 14. Studioalbum „Red Before Black“.

Designed and built in-house by our staff of engineers, this robotic “Drum Machine,” called the Gluing Gantry, ensures that every Evans head has a true collar. A series of vacuum fixtures holds the film in place for each head while the robotic gluing arm circles above the hoop and dispenses epoxy. The result is a drumhead that tunes both easily and consistently. At Evans, we do it right the first time. And every time. And experience tells us that there are no shortcuts when it comes to making a stick. There is, however a very good short- cut when choosing one.

A Module Compiled by: Dr. Ekawati Marhaenny Dukut, M.Hum. FACULTY OF LANGUAGE AND ARTS SOEGIJAPRANATA CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY SEMARANG 2016 ii GRAPHIC NOVELS MODULE FOREWORD In the Faculty of Language and Arts of Soegijapranata Catholic University, students majoring in Linguistics or Literature are not only required to speak English actively but also to write actively. There are a number of writing courses to be taken, but all of them are geared so their thesis writing meets the minimum academic standard. This module, however, is created for students who want to write creatively. Not only will students have a mastery of writing good narratives, but students can develop them in accordance to the theory of writing a story that is developed into a novel with an interesting plot like that learned from the Introduction of Literature course. As the name suggests, this Graphic Novels module aims to provide students the opportunity of creating their own graphics, too. For that purpose, students are advised to exercise their drawing skills either in free hand or by use of various electronic media and drawing softwares, such as the Adobe Flash or Coreldraw. I would like to thank the writer of this module for her time and effort of creating such a creative writing course and module. Finally, I do hope that students do benefit from this module. Angelika Riyandari Dean of the Faculty of Language and Arts GRAPHIC NOVELS MODULE iii SYLLABUS Course description: This course especially prepares students to make graphic novels/ comic books, i.e. a book that more or less follows the Manga cartoon drawing of the Japanese people.

Global Metal Music and Culture This book defines the key ideas, scholarly debates, and research activities that have contributed to the formation of the international and interdisciplinary field of Metal Studies. Drawing on insights from a wide range of disciplines including popular music, cultural studies, sociology, anthropology, philos- ophy, and ethics, this volume offers new and innovative research on metal musicology, global/local scenes studies, fandom, gender and metal identity, metal media, and commerce. Offering a wide-ranging focus on bands, scenes, periods, and sounds, contributors explore topics such as the riff-based song writing of classic heavy metal bands and their modern equivalents, and the musical-aesthetics of Grindcore, Doom and Drone metal, Death metal, and Progressive metal. They interrogate production technologies, sound engi- neering, album artwork and band promotion, logos and merchandising, t-shirt and jewelry design, and the social class and cultural identities of the fan communities that define the global metal music economy and subcul- tural scene. The volume explores how the new academic discipline of metal studies was formed, while also looking forward to the future of metal music and its relationship to metal scholarship and fandom. With an international range of contributors, this volume will appeal to scholars of popular music, cultural studies, social psychology and sociology, as well as those interested in metal communities around the world.
