ABOUT THE THREAD GROUP The Thread Group is an industry alliance chartered with guiding the widespread adoption of the Thread protocol. The Thread Group’s focus is two-fold: educating people – from product developers to consumers – on the benefits of Thread, and providing a rigorous, meaningful product certification process that will help ensure people have a positive experience using connected devices in their home.

ABOUT THE THREAD PROTOCOL Thread solves reliability, security, power, and compatibility issues in order to help manufacturers and consumers connect products around the home.

Thread is a robust, IP-based, self-healing mesh network designed to securely and reliably connect hundreds of products around the home, without blowing through battery life. Thread is secure; in fact, it provides security at the network level and hooks for application layer security. It’s also scalable, and can connect 250+ devices into a single network. More details can be found at http://www.threadgroup.org/Technology.aspx
