Glen Hansard, one of the creators of Once, spent a great deal of time jostling for V space on Grafton Street—he continues to occasionally busk in Dublin, for a Christmas charity busking event along with front man Bono. Busking became so popular, the Dublin city council enacted laws in August 2016 to help regulate the heavy traffic (and hopefully place the emphasis back on struggling musicians instead of glorified karaoke performances). Among changes brought on by the new laws:
