Urban Farm 1 mile (1.8km) The farm is a member of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, and they actively support their Meanwood work to conserve endangered species. At the Meanwood Farm farm you can find rare breed animals including Valley the British Lop and Gloucester Old Spot pigs, plus Whitefaced Woodland sheep. Other Meanwood Farm livestock include goats, cattle, rabbits and a large collection of poultry and waterfowl.

The terrain and gradient of these paths is much the same as the walk described overleaf. Walks in this pack 1 Meanwood Valley Urban Farm 2 Rawdon Billing 3 Chevin 4 Circular 1 Meanwood Valley: N Directions Urban Farm and Sugarwell Hill From the car park head back towards the entrance and turn right, up two flights of steps Grid Ref: SE 295363 W E Surface 1/2 towards the field. Here take the middle of the Gradient 2 three paths which climbs gently to the top of S Sugarwell Hill. Just before the top of the hill fork right and follow the path down keeping the high bank to your left.

After passing the old stone barn turn right about 60 yards further on down the steps. Turn right here and follow the path alongside Meanwood Sugarwell Hill Beck back to the farm and car park.

4 Horsforth Circular 2 Rawdon Billing N Directions From the Jubilee Hall car park head past the Grid Ref: SE 221393 church on to Town Street. Just past the school W E Surface 3/4 there is a footpath on your right, take this and Gradient 2/3 head up past the school towards the playing S field. Pass behind the goalposts to a stile in the hedge, follow the path up the next two fields.

After crossing the next stile turn left and walk up the hill to the stile in the top corner of the field. You are now at the top of Billing Hill, it’s all downhill from here! Key to Map Follow the path round the edge of the quarry Route and take in the magnificent views on your left.

Road Quarry Take the first stile you pass on your left and head across the top of the slope and follow the Larkfield Dam Housing Billing Hill path across the next three fields towards the houses. When you reach the houses turn left down the footpath towards Markham Avenue.

Turn left here and then left again at Larkfield Larkfield Road. This road brings you back to the school where you started. Reservoir

The Chevin 2 miles (3.25km) The Chevin is a prominent natural feature rising steeply above the town of Otley. The lower wooded area gives way to rocky East Chevin Road Otley outcrop and quarry face, culminating in upland heather slopes from where you can Spectacular views and Chevin enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. The name ‘Chevin’ probably wildlife comes from the Celtic word ‘Cefn’ meaning ridge. Turn left here and follow the path until Gradient 2/3 you reach a right turn which follows down a S steep slope to a kissing gate. Caley Crags are situated just through the kissing gate.

A660 Leeds Road The path rises to a view point above the Crags giving a spectacular view of Otley. Turn right Caley Crags underneath the power lines and cross the moor to bring you to another kissing gate. Turn right here to bring you back to the car park.

Walks in this pack 1 Meanwood Valley Urban Farm 2 Rawdon Billing 3 Otley Chevin 4 Horsforth Circular Directions 4 Horsforth Circular Key to Map Route From Station Road head up towards the round- Grid Ref: SE 244 392 about and go straight on down St Margaret’s Surface 2/4 Road Road, taking care crossing Long Row. At the Gradient 2 Scotland Lane bottom turn right into Lee Lane. Just before the farm follow the footpath sign and turn right Housing following the fenced path through the grounds of the University. When you come to a paved Lower Reservoir Owlet Farm path bear left along it until you reach a gate. Do not go through the gate, instead follow the path to the right and head up towards Middle Reservoir Brownberrie Lane.

Cross Brownberrie Lane with care and up the drive of Brownberrie House shortly turning left Beech House over the stile into the wood. After passing through the kissing gate, fork right and follow the path along the fence. When you reach a T-junction in the path turn right and follow the path down to Scotland Lane.

Cross Scotland Lane with care and head down the farm access track. Immediately after Owlet Brownberrie Lane Grange follow the signpost and turn right and then right again across the stile and down the edge of the field towards Beech House. After Trinity & All Saints College you pass Beech House follow the track until you leave the wood. Here take the stile on your School N Lee Lane left and follow the path across the bridge down Station Road into Sussex Avenue. There is a ginnel on the left about 40 yards down the road, follow this to bring you back out on Station Road. W E St. Margaret’s Road
