Ludwig Minkus was a nineteenth century Austrian composer of ballet music, a violin virtuoso and teacher of music. His wiki is here.

(Below: Ludwig Minkus) John Lanchbery, born in London in 1923, but later resident in , was a composer and conductor who also specialised in ballet arrangements, amending and enhancing the sometimes average work of composers like Minkus. He became an Australian citizen in 2002, and lived in Melbourne until his death in February 2003.
