OFFICIAL CHECKLIST OF TRINIDAD & TOBAGO The official list of species of Trinidad & Tobago stands at 489 as of December 31st 2019. This list is updated periodically to reflect additions brought about by the significant increase in coverage by both local and visiting birdwatchers to our islands. This list comprises two components: (a) species adjudged as correctly identified by the Trinidad & Tobago Rare Birds Committee since September 1995 that occur naturally or have a sustainable breeding population in Trinidad & Tobago and (b) species adjudged acceptable by Richard ffrench prior to the TTRBC’s inauguration.
