INTRODUCTION OBJECT OF INVESTIGATION AND BACKGROUND: GOVERNMENT ORDERS FOR THE SURVEY:

in Railway Board included the work of Rohtak-Meham hansi new line in pink book 2013-14 vide item no. 15. Accordingly Final Location Survey, geotechnical studies, preparation of GAD of Bridges, drawings & other preliminary, activities in connection with construction of New line between Rohtak-Meham-Hansi was carried out to frame detailed project report.

OBJECT OFPROPOSED SURVEY:

Rohtak is an existing railway station on Delhi- Jakhal - Bathinda BG section , 'D' inh category route of Delhi division of Northern Railway.It is a district headquarter take off from Haryana state. Two branch lines one for and other for Rohtak railway station. The new BG line section from Rohtak-Hisar via Meham& Hansi is for a length of 93.919 km section, traversing the districts of Rohtak and Hisar in the state of Haryana. Meham and Hansi are tehsil headquarters of Rohtak and Hisar districts respectively. The section of project section would take off from Rohtak railway station on Delhi-Bathinda section of Bikaner Delhi division to join at Hansi railway station on Bhiwani-Hisar link from Rohtak to Hisar. The distance via existing rail route from Rohtak to Hisar is via Bhiwani whereas the route would these routes is 142.56 km and 210.60 km respectively, proposed be 93.92 km only. The proposed new rail link would help in rapid development of industrial, and agricultural socio-economic activities of the area in addition to meet the transportation needs of the people. BACKGROUND:

The Haryana state is situated on the northern part of India. It is bordered by Punjab and Himachal Pradesh to the north and by Rajasthan to the west and south. The river defines its eastern border with Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Haryana is now a contributor to leading the country's production of food grain and milk. Agriculture is the leading occupation for the residents of the state, the flat arable land irrigated by submersible pumps and an extensive canal system. Haryana contributed heavily to the Green Revolution that made India self-sufficient in food production in the 1960s. The Proposed alignment traverses from Rohtak to Hansi via Mehem, which is located in Rohtak and Hisar district of Haryana. Rohtak is located in the southeast of Haryana and northwest of Delhi, bounded by and districts to the north, Jhajjar and Sonipat districts to the east, and Hissar, , and Bhiwani districts to the west. Rohtak is a Municipal Corporation and district headquarters in Rohtak district that itself as the "Heart of It styles Haryana". is located 70 km northwest of New Delhi and 250 km south of the state capital Chandigarh at the NH 10. Mehem is tehsil headquarter and a developing town of rohtak district. Hansi is a city and a municipal council in Hisar district in the Indian state of Haryana. The project area falls between 28.890 °N and 29.1°N latitudes and 76.5796° E and 75.57°E The project section would take off from Rohtak railway station on Delhi - Bhantindalongitudes. section of Delhi division to at Hansi join railway station on Bhiwani Hisar section of Bikaner division of Northern There is no Railway. direct rail link from Rohtak to Hisar. The part detailed estimate for the work of Rohtak-Meham-Hansi New Line at a cost of RRs 391 cr 16 Civil =Rs 360 964 cr., Elect 557 cr. ( =Rs 27 & Elect (TRD)= Rs. 2 614 cr ) excluding and s&T has P-way been sanctioned by Railway Bd. Vide letter No 2013/W 2/NRINL/11 dated15 10 2015 The revised detailed estimale amounting to Rs. 67985 cr (Civil Rs 601.40 cr., Elect.=Rs.29 94 cr & Elect. (TRD)= Rs. 2614 cr & S&T= Rs 45 86 cr) has been sent to Railway Bd. On 02 06.2017.

2 As committed to Board Rly vide HQ. Office, K Gate vide letter No 6-W/30/Plg./Pt V dated 10 10 2016,the Rohtak Meham Hansi New Line Project was taken up on EPC Basis EPC tender for Rohtak-Meham section of Rohtak-Meham-Hansi New Line has been awarded vide Letter No. 74-W/6/189WATKJ dated 08.11.2017.

3 Now it is proposed to invite EPC tender for the balance Meham-Hansi section(Length- 31Kms) of Rohtak-Meham-Hansi New Line. The scope of proposed work is as under

"Design and construction of Civil structures involving Formation in Embankment /Cutting, Construction of Major& Minor Bridges, Platforms, Structures, Buildings, Yards and other allied works on Design-Build Lump Sum Basis for Ex Mcham and Ex Hansi section of Rohtak-Meham-Hansi New Line Project."

4 The cost of the work has estimated been calculated based on accepted rates of similar type of works and the same comes to Rs.225.00 cr.(Approx)

Keeping the above in view it Is requested to accord administrative approval for Calling of tender for Engineering. Procurement & Construction ( EPC ) in connection with Meham-Hansi Section of Rohtak-Meham-Hansi New-Line.
