I. Introduction 1. I am Senior Vice President and General Manager of Music Programming at Sirius XM Radio Inc. (“Sirius XM”). I have worked professionally in radio, as well as in marketing, promotion and online for over 25 years.     Freedom’s Songs: Collective Voices in the Struggle for Freedom Jazz from A to Z Workshop for History, Language Arts and Performing Arts Educators October 2012 Goals of Jazz from A to Z • Enrich the historical and cultural knowledge of students and teachers through an integrated study of both jazz music and American/World history. • Develop and maintain historical thinking in history classes and activities. • Empower students and teachers with skills and knowledge of jazz in its historical context so as to have a meaningful experience with works of music • Enhance student musical performances Objectives of Jazz from A to Z • History students will create jazz/civil rights projects for National History Day to be displayed during JAM@MAC. The historical topics of the projects will relate to the NHD theme of “Turning Points in History: People, Ideas, Events.” Students will be evaluated using the National History Day rubric. • Student jazz bands will perform at the Essentially Ellington Regional Festival on April 4, 2013 at Mesa Arts Center and be evaluated using Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington competition rubric. • Teachers will create a lesson plan that integrates music and NEA Jazz in the Schools in their curriculum. Objectives of the Workshops • Students and teachers will analyze and interpret music (gospel, jazz, freedom songs and popular songs) as a primary source while examining the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and early 1960s.. • Students and teachers will determine the role of music as a cultural mirror in the 1950s and early 1960s.. • Students and teachers will assess the function of music as an agent of social change during the Civil Rights Movement.

Bull Received: 10 September 2016; Accepted: 24 March 2017; Published: 26 March 2017 Abstract: Disney’s animated feature Frozen (2013) received acclaim for presenting a powerful heroine, Elsa, who is independent of men. Elsa’s avoidance of male suitors, however, could be a result of her protective father’s admonition not to “let them in” in order for her to be a “good girl.” In addition, Elsa’s power threatens emasculation of any potential suitor suggesting that power and romance are mutually exclusive. While some might consider a princess’s focus on power to be refreshing, it is significant that the audience does not see a woman attaining a balance between exercising authority and a relationship. Instead, power is a substitute for romance. Furthermore, despite Elsa’s seemingly triumphant liberation celebrated in Let It Go, selfless love rather than independence is the key to others’ approval of her as queen. Regardless of the need for novel female characters, Elsa is just a variation on the archetypal power-hungry female villain whose lust for power replaces lust for any person, and who threatens the patriarchal status quo. The only twist is that she finds redemption through gender-stereotypical compassion.

In the simplest terms, Millennials (which Pew Research defines as Americans born from 1982-2000, and called Generation Y by some) are driving less than older motorists did when they came of age--and when they do get behind the wheel, they are generally in smaller, more fuel-efficient cars. This, in turn, has curbed revenues from the federal gasoline tax, the primary source of funding for the Federal Highway Trust Fund, which is the backbone of the country's surface transportation infrastructure. This drop in funds available to construct and repair the country's infrastructure could, in Standard & Poor's Ratings Services' view, weigh on growth prospects for U.S.
