A total of 537 grant applications were submitted through the Research Office in this quarter and 134 research contracts were signed, with a total value of €7,165,198. This first section provides a summation of the total number of applications/contracts signed by each college and a breakdown of funding received by funding agency during the period. Contracts have yet to be signed. 3.1 EU The following are a sample of EU proposals at the grant negotiation stage. Individual Fellowship award values vary from €191,359 to €245,000. A total of 16 Marie Curie Fellowships were awarded to Irish institutions. 3.3 European Research Council Dr Maire-Louise Coolahan (English) proposal to the European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator programme is in the latter stages of the negotiation phase. The proposal entitled “The Reception and Circulation of Early Modern’s Women’s Writing 1550-1700 is worth approximately 1.9 million euro to NUI Galway and will run for five years. The ERC is part of FP7/Horizon 2020 and funds ground breaking research carried out by top academics. 5 Quarterly Report January – March 2014 ort 2008 – 2009 Research Office 4 Research Office Horizon2020 Horizon 2020 is an opportunity for NUI Galway to continuing building on our successful FP7 participation. NUI Galway secured one of the only 2 ERCs awarded in Ireland as well as 5 of the 16 Irish Marie Curie Fellowships awarded. Horizon 2020 is an opportunity to deepen your platform
