Local Councilman Appointed to Honorable Order of Chris Gibson presented highest civilian honor by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

JONESBORO, ARK. (Sept. 14, 2015) – ARcare is pleased to announce Chris Gibson, corporate regional director for its northeast Arkansas markets, has been named to the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels by Governor . Commissions for Kentucky Colonels are given by the Governor and the Secretary of State to individuals in recognition of noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to a community, state or the nation.

Mr. Gibson received a document from Governor Beshear’s office announcing his commission which read, “With your commission as a Kentucky , the Governor recognizes your service and accomplishments on behalf of others.” Among the ranks of the Kentucky Colonels are distinguished leaders such as Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Ronald Reagan and English Prime Minister Winston Churchill, volunteer firemen and teachers - people from all walks of life who have performed in an extraordinary manner.

Mr. Gibson, who also serves on Jonesboro’s City Council (Ward 3, Position 2), has been instrumental in establishing KentuckyCare, which is a division of ARcare and developed to provide affordable primary care for the residents of rural Western Kentucky. Under his leadership, KentuckyCare has expanded to four primary care clinics and is the only Federally Qualified Health Center in the western Kentucky region. In addition to his role as a business strategist and corporate growth developer for ARcare and KentuckyCare, Gibson recently joined Collier Properties as a licensed commercial and residential real estate agent.

“It is a true honor to receive this recognition form Governor Beshears. It was instilled in me long ago that if you want your community to be great, you have to be great for your community. It is my belief that you should be fully vested in any community that you are involved in. I am blessed to be a lifelong resident of Jonesboro and proud to serve our great city. It is also a blessing that I have been given the opportunity play a role in developing a healthcare organization to serve the residents of Western Kentucky.”
